DA Carpet Brush

Work smarter not harder
My thoughts exactly.

Richy, do you ever pressure wash the mats when detailing? No disrespect intended but there's probably still a lot of dirt left in those mats that will come out and look cleaner if pressure washed then extracted. I find it amazing how long it can take for the dirt to stop coming out while pressure washing mats.

I spot treat the stains then mist entire mat with Folex before agitating with my Cyclo with the brushes installed then pressure wash then extract. It gets all the dirt out.

Just my 2 cents.

You're welcome Corey. I would still recommend it. They might make smaller ones to fit a drill for a really tight place??

Because of the high RPM, wouldn't a rotary type brush grab the nap of the carpet even at low speeds? Dunno BTW great job on those carpets. Have the same color and it's a pain to keep clean.

Can you achieve same results without steaming the carpets?

I think I will order one of these too. I recently did an 05 Sienna that 3 kids did a number on over the years and this tool would have came in handy.

I power washed the mats and then used my RIDGID 12 Gal. 5 PHP Wet/Dry Vac to extract. Came out really nice.

Good post Richy!

The DA brushes are very nice when doing floor matts and large open areas of carpet (mini-van). On tighter areas they don't work quite as well and I usually resort to hand scrubbing those areas. Definitely worth the money though IMO. :props:

Don't laugh, but I have actually used this (rechargeable) battery powered bathroom scrubber in the past! The battery doesn't hold a charge too well anymore but it works better for the tighter areas then the DA....it's smaller, spins rotationally, and the bristles are perfect! ;)

Same here! Though I vacuum first or purge with air. ;)

Chad, that little thing looks great! I used to power wash the mats but didn't like the long drying time. Once I got the steamer, I haven't done it that way since. As far as dirt still being in there, not once you stop getting dirt transfer onto the white terry towel. Admittedly, that can take a while. What would be interesting is to do it your way Dave, followed by steam. I'm wondering if the steam would quicken the drying time??

Well I guess I do have an advantage over some with the big, twin motor coin-op vacuum unit that's bolted down inside of my van. The mats are all but completely dry after extracting them with that monster. Eventually I'll own a vapor steamer but as an enthusiast (I like the way that sounds:)) it likely won't be any time soon. I'd be interested in whether steam would make any improvement over the results I get now.

Ever have to bum a quarter off the client to finish the job? hehehhhehehehe
Seriously, that sounds like a powerful unit.

Hey Richy, when you used the DA carpet brush did you find that it bogged down the Megs DA? I used it for the first time today on my PC and at speed 4 with light pressure I felt the machine bogging down. I had better results at speed 5 but still felt it was bogging down.

The mats came out nice, but I think I need to get a steamer to really get the deep down dirt and bring back the color of the mats.

No, but I didn't have to really lean on it either. It was just basically the weight of the machine. I got my old UDM going, so it's my carpet cleaning machine now!
