Chemical guys have a hex logic starter kit. Not the greatest quality but you mentioned you were not looking for perfection.

Hex Logic pads are manufactured for CG, by Buff & Shine. The quality should be on par with most reputable pad manufaturers.

Thanks for all the advice. I noticed many said I should be rotating pads, how often should I be doing that and when am I able to rotate back to the original pad.

The hydrotechs fell apart on me.

From what I understand, too much heat and too much product this can happen. From reading, this is common with the cyan, that the workhorse and takes the most beating.
