So, I have always used speed 6 for polishing with Menzerna polishes, SIP & 106FA, but I see that alot of people spread, then go to speed 5 then 6 for a little bit and back down.

I have the org PC 7424, what speed is everyone using? I am assuming nothing is wrong with cranking it up to speed 6 till polish breaks down then going down to a lower speed to finish it off.

I never use my PC7424 at speed 6. I spread the polish somewhere between 3 and 4 so it spreads out evenly over the 2x2 section and so there is no spatter. Then I will bring the machine up to speed 5 or 5.5 and then work the polish in until it's broken down. When working with 106FA, I generally don't slow back down to 3 or 4 because it's already a finishing polish and DA machines always finish very well. PO203 or SIP will receive a few extra passes at slower speeds, whether I follow up with a true finishing polish or not.

Even with my Flex 3401, I don't see a difference in the finish whether I slow down at the end or not.

I disagree about using speed 5 on a pc7424. Especially when using Menz, which doesn't have a long work time like Optimum. I have the new Griot's DA that has more power than any DA out there, exception is the Flex 3401, which has forced rotation, so not on the same playing field like Porter Cable, UDM, Megs G110 or the new Griot. I alway's use speed 6 when correcting with a DA. Breaks the polish down faster and imo better and faster results. So going 60 in a 70mph highway will be less wear and tear on you engine, but going 70 will get you there faster and isn't that what's it all about. So crank up that pc or get a Flex.

I always use speed 6 on my pc and flex. I start out at speed 3 to spread the product. Then crank it up to full speed and work it in.

Speed 6 on the PC is garbage. It sounds like it's crying.

Speed 6 all the way for me, I always thought of it as well speed 6 on a DA is not faster than a rotary going 1300 rpms, so it should not be a issue. The noise/vibration is not a issue for me as well...I can deal with those issues. Wanted to see if my thinking was wrong but like most things it seems like its, "It works for me and it is what I do...dont ask my why.." haha

Speed and pressure (enough not to stall the pad - finding the balance is key) seems to make the polishes work best.

speed 6 for any attempt at correcting the paint. start at 3-4 to spread the product of course and also for waxing if not doing by hand. For AIO, I might stick to 5.

Might be a stupid question, but what is "SIP" ?
People are always talking about "SIP from Menzerna"...
Thanks.
