DA ticks?

Hi guys,

I finally managed to get rid of my holograms problem using a LC blue CCS pad but I think im getting some DA ticks. It's hard to see in the picture but it doesn't look like a show room finish to me.

Im using a red LC ccs pad with some ultimate polish. I do have some menzerna SF4500 but haven't had the chance to try it. Do you guys think it would finish better than UP ?

I know the blue and red foam have no cut but after several pad/polish combination, anything stronger than my blue pad, would haze/micro-mare the paint...I just find that UP with a red pad would get me the best finish...for now. Ill probably try sf4500 tomorrow.
 
I ran into this on a black vette awhile back. After trying just about everything, I found the LC microfiber pad with 205 @ speed 4 finished clean.
I've went to this a few times since for finicky black paint and it hasn't let me down yet.
 
Ultimate Polish on a blue CCS will gloss like crazy.

1. How clean is your pad?
2. Are the ccs dimples clean of any old, dried polish residue?
3. What speed are you using?
4.How much pressure?

Pads are brand new, and I clean them ''on the fly'' after every panel.

Dimples are clean.
Speed 5 on the PC.
Moderate pressure, light pressure for the last pass.

It's raining today so I won't be able to try sf4500.

I don't have any MF pad in stock right now, will get my hands on some for the next order! thanks for your advice

That's interesting.

It is kind of difficult to really see what's going on, but I might try an go to a green ccs. It actually has some cut, and would probably remove whatever it is on the paint.
 
Theirs a lot of hidden magical information in the high horse power rupes thread that's still fresh on the board.. Hint read that thing as many times as it takes for the bells and whistles to start ringing in your head..
 
Those blue pads SUCK on soft paint. Use a stiffer pad like a white pad and then the product isn't smeared over the paint like a soft pad does versus a stiffer pad which holds its shape.

Agree just ordered cobra cross cutting pads from ag Orange and white only.

They rocked on soft Honda paint. Never had an issue with them.

I believe those are only available in the 6.5" size.

It's been said that a PC has a difficult time spinning that size pad, but it hasn't been my experience.

The Flex 3401 would have absolutely no issue spinning them.

Honda soft, yeah, but I've had a black Porsche and a couple black Vipers that were so soft that it was marring.
 
I'd assume that's soft paint. I've ran into these issues with my go-to finishing pads on soft paint.

Do you have another LSP to try? I will try various LSP'S before I cave in and go back to a pad that have some cut.

Funny how paint finishes sometimes. On those super soft paints I use a glaze that has very light polishing capabilities and that normally does the trick. Always IPA after just to make sure.

If that doesn't work, you may have to go against everything you thought you knew about polishing and go with a product with decent abrasives and a cutting pad. I recently had a vehicle that would ONLY finish with M105 and a white pad. Nothing else worked.

Indeed, that is super soft paint. As soon as I have the chance to try sf4500 I'll let you know how it goes.

I would be very surprise to try M105 for my finishing step...even my white pad and ultimate polish haze the paint. What kind of glaze has some light polishing in it? Also, is there a real difference between the red and the gold pad? Is it worth a shot or maybe just try to water polish with the red pad?

CG creme glaze claims to have light polishing capability. I have used it on super soft hard to finish paint, IPA wipe and make sure it worked.

I've had 2 vehicles recently that I could only get to finish with M105. insane, but a billion pad and polish combos would not finish it.
