Well as you can see I got some new shoes for my ride. Of course I want to keep them really clean with some good depth and knew to come here to ask for advice!!
I was thinking of using Flitz but I had read something about wheel glazing??? I am unfamiliar with that & would love some clarification & product recommendation.
Feed back please

Those are sweet new shoes

I was just doing a detail with rims sorta like that today, except black.
Whenever I see rims with all those fancy indents and grooves I cringe., always harder to keep clean but they do look good.
I use never-dull ,,its cheaper and the wadding material works great for me

Are they clearcoated or uncoated ?? Treat them specific to the material type and coating.

i would try CG wheel wax just to keep them shiny and protected from brake dust baking on it

Congrats on the new wheels.
Barrels make the wheel appear to be two-part. Chrome?

Poorboy's World wheel sealant. Last for months and adds gloss like no other. To get any better than that you will have to look into coating them with OC/OG or something similar.

GTechniq C5 for durability.

Yes...with a wheel that complicated, I'd want something really easy (like a WOWA) or something really durable, like a coating. Fortunately, you pretty much get both with Opti-Coat...I haven't used C5 but if it's anything like C4 it should be easy and durable as well.

If your wheels are bare aluminum, chrome, or another non clear-coated material Flitz is a nice product to use in order to keep them looking their best.

If the wheel is clear-coated then I'd use something like Optimum Opti-Coat or CarPro CQuartz to protect them. These products will provide the very best protection and can be waxed over.

If you choose not to go this route then perhaps consider a sealant. Some of the clear sealants listed below are easy to use and will provide great protection...:props:

Wipe On and Walk Away

Well good news & bad news. The bad news is that today I went to go get my new wheels installed and on two of the wheels they found bubbles in the chrome plating. The good news is that they are going to drop ship me two new wheels tomorrow or on the 10th depending on what is in stock. While I am bummed out about the situation, the really good news of is that I have two wheels that I can apply coats of sealant before they are ever mounted!!!
My wife got me the Blackfire exterior sample kit and it does have a wet diamond all finish paint protection sample in there. Would that be a suitable sealant for treated chrome wheels?

Blackfire Metal Sealant would be a better choice.

:iagree:

@OP(Jeffery), are you wheelsvmade in China? If so stay on top of them for any issues with the chrome. I've seen several sets of chrome wheels made in China that had/have issues and after the warranty runs out you'll be stuck with the problem. Hope yours turn out well.

Currently I am enjoying the chrome. I really like the way the wheel is shaped & formed. I figure I have some time before I get tired of the maintenance and or flaking starts to occur. If & when it does I am going to get them powder coated. Hopefully two colors somehow.

Pretty nice wheels for a truck for sure, why not use your favorite QD on them after every wash? Maybe some DG Aqua Wax just for the wheels (although it should be used on everything for that matter)
