Say what you will about Harbor Freight but for certain things you can not pass up the value.

Where did you get the 25% from?

Ever since I bought something from HF online earlier this year they once in a while send me coupons in the mail. That's how I got the 25%.

I use HF's $47 purple HVLP spray gun for shooting primer. It lays down a nice coat with the 1.8mm tip. In a pinch I'd use the 1.4mm tip to spray a car in a heartbeat lol. I carry the 25" Breaker Bar in my trucks jack kit. The stock lug wrench is worthless for busting lugs on the side of the road IMO.

Can't beat that deal. I'll have to hunt around google and see if I can find one. I have a 20% and a free tarp at my desk at work.

Awesome find! I'm getting mine today. Ok everyone on AGO better visit their local HF with that one:) Whohoo!

What do you guys use, the 3, 5, 7, or 9 mil? Or should I say white, light blue, darker blue, or black?

Hi Setec,

The only ones I saw on the shelf last time I stocked up were 7mil - and those are awesome. Not TOO thick, but not TOO thin.

What I like is when I drag my knuckles across the cement detailing wheels or catch my finger on a bolt in a doorjamb, the gloves hold up quite well and there is still that "tactile" feel to them. Only ONCE so far have they failed, falling apart at the palm half-way through the detail.

Imagine for a moment if PBMG purchases them..... what impacts would be seen?

I buy all my gloves from them they have the best price.

Me too!

Everything else breaks eventually. Bought a roller stool and all the wheels fell off. All their compressed air line couplers and quick disconnects leak...every time no exceptions. Blow guns last about 2 weeks. . .all air tools are worthless. Wrenches and sockets always break.

And yet...I keep finding myself back inside that store. It's not fair I tell you!

Their tool boxes look good

I got one of their tool box sets, one of those 130 piece sets for around the house... it's cheap, sure, but after my 20% discount it made sense to get it just to have it handy. But I would and have never bought any of their tools.

Just made my first trip to HF, and survived without buying anything more than I had intended.

First of all, their parking lot sale is inside today because it's about 1,000 degrees out on the blacktop. They get extra credit for that alone.

I used the 25% off coupon and bought one of the steamers for $101. I had the option of paying $29.99 to join their Inside Track club for a year, and then I could have purchased the steamer for $99, but I couldn't make the math work. :) I don't really need to join their club with all of the coupons they offer, and I don't see myself making that many purchases where there would be significant savings.

Also got a free LED flashlight that's not bad.

It's easy to find a lot of things to buy, but not as easy to find things I need. They're selling a 500 watt Halogen light for $9.99, and if using a coupon wouldn't cost much more than the replacement bulb. It would come in handy for the few cooler months we have, but it's just too hot to use one of these right now. Might be a future purchase.

They also had several different weights of the gloves on the shelf, but I decided to save that for another trip as well.

Hi Kappy,

Thanks a lot! I would really love to know how the steamer works... especially with a video review if that isn't too much to ask. At least some thoughts on how long a single tank lasts while steaming and how long it takes to warm up to full steam pressure?

I'd love to know if this would be suited and of high enough quality for steaming engines, wheels, and upholstery... THANKS! :)

PS: Their McCulloch steamer, (HERE and is $119 on Amazon every day w/ free shipping and a decent 820 reviews = 4 Stars HERE) from what I've read and been told, is really the same steamer as many others on the marker, they just use different plastic shells/colors and logos of course. Interesting. In a perfect world, I'd like buy an $800 Vapor Clean model that would be rock-star-status... but to have something small and cheap like this for small stains in seats or to loosen up stubborn dirt and debris from doorjambs or engine bays would be great I think.

Mostly the reviews on Amazon talk about the build quality being fine, but the heat and PRESSURE being far underwhelming. One reviewer even speaks about the engine bay being impossible to steam, without manual scrubbing, because the steam can't reach into the cracks with how weak it is.

I'm not sure about a video (fine print in my witness protection agreement) but I'll definitely let you know how long a fill-up lasts, and how long it takes to get hot.

I actually bought it to try cleaning some pain-in-the-butt grout, which will be a very good test, and then hope to use it for other jobs, some of which are car-related, as well. I've never used another steamer, so I won't be able to compare the quality, but if it works - it works.

Not a big HF shopper myself...but I did buy the DA Polisher, and so far so good. Did a polish and wax on the Beemer and it's still in one piece. But when I do go in there I end up getting a bunch of junk I had no intentions of buying.
Kinda like a trip to Costco, but cheaper....I don't come home with a gallon jar of olives, a side of beef, 12 pairs of socks and a blister pack of eight pairs of scissors"

There's quite a few thing I've purchased from HF. A goodyear 100' air hose and goodyear oxy acetylene hose set. Both made in the U.S.A. . I picked up one of their older style 4" angle grinders. I changed out the grease on that and replaced it with some mobil 1 synthetic grease. That grinder will not die. I also have the DA polisher that I'm very pleased with. I've yet replaced the grease in that. Some things there are good some are just horrible. I do a lot of estate sales and that's where I've picked up a bulk of my hand tools. All U.S. made and mostly older Craftsman. Probably have enough hand tools to start a pit crew. Let the buyer beware with HF, but sometimes you just can't go wrong.
