…YUP!!! Got into another accident today, and no it wasn’t my fault. This time I was in a loaner car as my car was in the shop getting a recall and service bulletin taken care of-oh…they didn’t wash the car!!!
So here’s the story…
I’m actually on my way to pick up my car. I was cutting through DC to get to Maryland, and the road we were travelling on is a three lane-one way road travelling northbound. The intersection we were at had two right turn lanes and the left lane was straight only. The elderly lady who hit me was in the right TURN ONLY lane and I was in the middle lane. I could either turn right or go straight. So the light changed and I start to turn. ¾ of the way into the turn….BAM!!!!! She hits me. WTF?!?!?!?! The way her truck was pointing was like she intended to go straight, as you can see from the pics below.
So the cop arrives 10-15 minutes later and lady who hit me did not move her truck until the cop arrived. I’m actually glad she didn’t because it made my case clear cut. So the officer goes to talk to her first and then talks to me. After all the info was recorded, and the cop talks to the lady again, she comes back to me and asks me again what happened. I told her the same thing I told her the first time, and she sits there and chuckles. I’m like ok why…she said “well…she’s telling me two different things. She first told me she was trying to go straight.” While she was talking with her I could see her explaining that she could only go straight from where she turned. Anyways, the officer said that she knew who was at fault but didn’t know what to cite her with. She ended up citing her with failing to give time and attention….wtf is that?! I’m just glad she will be writing a report.
Whats funny-her grand-daughter who was all of 12 years old gets out the truck and was like “you hit my grand-mama’s truck and I need your information!” This little girl was for real trying to fight me…balled her fists and tried to buck at me…WHAT THE EFF?!...ghetto ass kids!! And grandma was steady trying to argue her case to the officer a few times.
Anyways….here are the pics:
Look how far away from the curb she is:
