Based on another post about someone's bad luck with bad drivers got me thinking once again about installing a dash cam.

Anyone use one?
Any recommendations?

G-1w. Check thewirecutters review on it. Got it on my honda fit. Super sweet quality and im just waiting for some crazy stuff to happen so i can upload it lol.

Using a BlackVue DR650GW-2CH here. So far, nothing exciting to upload.

Get a dash camera that uses an internal capacitor instead of a battery to maintain its memory when ya turn the vehicle off.
Those batteries don't like the vehicles interior heat during the hot summer months.

The g1w is good, but g1wc is better. Beware of fakes though. I myself have the blackvue dr650gw 2 ch like dahen. Yes it is expensive but I like the design of the unit and I use it with the power magic pro so it still records when I'm parked in a parking lot with my car turned off.

gopro we have three different cameras only issue NO VIEW FINDER, can't see what is being recorded but awesome clarity.
my see some footage (not sure) on instagram #215detailing

I use my phone mounted on the dash. Was cut off twice and decided I wanted to have proof of these a holes. Works great and actually caught someone turning into me and causing me to veer into on comming traffic. Police thanked me for having video of it.

I have DOD Tech LS460W. Check out some youtube videos to see the quality for whatever cam you are thinking about.

My dad has one, think he only paid 15 bucks for it and it records 720p and its been fine for about 2 years now.

The only downside i have with them is the max record time and then having to clear the card and put it back in....not something i really have time, or desire to do.

Like the two other members, I too use a Blackvue but the DR550GW-2CH model. I also have the powet magic so it is recording when my car is off in parking lots. I upgraded the micro sd to a 64GB and it automatically deletes older footage as the card gets filled up. I've had it for 2 years and haven't had a problem yet.

I need to look into this as my last truck was wrecked and I had no way to defend myself and I got blamed for the accident.

Wow. Surprised they didn't stop at iHop or the Outback for lunch. Ha.

They may have I just didn't see it. As the camera records a new segment it deletes oldest and when that video was pulled they had already had my truck for 2 weeks. Who knows what other adventures my truck was used for.

I would of lost it!

Has anyone seen a nice DVR style setup?

I have been wanting to add a Dash Cam setup to mine but most of them are too ugly for me..

Id want something like this below, so i can have a front and rear and not be big and ugly with a dvr/nvr mounted somewhere out of sight like under a seat or something..
