Hello Autogeek Family! :xyxthumbs:
Today was our Anniversary for when we opened our little shop down here in our little town at the top of the South Island of New Zealand. First day of our Ninth year in business is done. :buffing:
I don’t know if eight years is overly special or worthy of being excited about but we’re pretty darn proud of our little shop & after all that’s been thrown at us along the way, I guess if we were simply standing here breathing I’d call that a victory.
(Caution random picture placement ahead)
I’m into my twenty fifth year in the detailing industry now & although at times it feels like just paying the bills, most of the time it still feels like I’m just having fun in my garage detailing cars. All the years gone by I have to say, it’s been the years since so I joined the Autogeek Online Forum almost seven years ago that have been the most memorable & outright fun. :xyxthumbs:
I have learned so much from being a part of this Forum & made a bunch of good friends along the way. Some of you I have met, some of you I may never meet but friends nonetheless.
rops:
I have traveled from NZ to Florida twice in those years because of Autogeek. First draw card was Mikes Boot Camp Class which I attended in January 2015. I took so much more away from Mikes Class than I even realised at the time, to be honest - some things are still being realised.
We fell in love with Florida on this trip & thoroughly enjoyed our time there. I was lucky enough to return for Autogeeks 13th Annual Detail Fest (nearly this time last year) 2018 & along with my Brother Don (fly07sti on AGO) who was my roommate for the weekend, I met a few other Forum members & put faces to the names. :dblthumb2:
Don (fly07sti) & Frank (FrankS)
Don (fly07sti) & Mike Phillips.
Don (fly07sti) & Meghan.
Good times indeed. We are planning a family return to USA in December this year & Autogeek is on our radar again & perhaps a catch up with a few Forum friends is in the mix too.
So there we go. From humble beginnings eight years ago, to being one of the most senior retailers in NZ & one of the premier detailing shops in the country. The journey continues & I hope you all come along with us for our steps towards the Tenth.
Thank you all for taking the time to read, & thank you all for being a part of Details!!!
