Daytona Wheel Brush Issue

I washed my car today and while using the Daytona Wheel Brush inside the rims I heard a terrible scraping sound. I examined the brush and noticed the rubber tip has failed. Is this a common thing to fail on these brushes? Anyone else had this problem?
 
I usually put electrical tape over the tip to prevent it from pulling off.
 
yes, I got a rubber vacuum port cover/cap from one of my customers who is a mechanic and krazy glued in over the end of the wire. problem solved.
 
Plasti Dip for tools that their rubber grips came off.....

Clean good dip it and good to go!

The Daytona brush is awesome.

Sorry yours came off.....
 
I've never had this problem with mine and I've been using it for over a year but I've heard of this happening before. Maybe you can polish the scratch out?

Thats an awesome idea! I actually think a lot of our detailing gear could go for a quick coat of plasti-dip- to protect the paint AND help keep the tool in your hand.

Thank you Meghan. That truly isn't necessary really. Im not worried about it. I just wanted to know if it was a common issue. The rim is my winter rim, so a scratch is no worry. Just glad it wasn't one of my summer rims!
 
I have both the EZ and Daytona and Mini's for about two years and the tips are fine. So I guess it's not common, but it does happen.

No worries. I was just curious thats all. I have no issue buying a new one. There are some great ideas on here on how to replace it. Threads like this I find helpful. I do have to thank Meghan again though for the generous offer. I do have an order being packaged and sent tomorrow so a new tip will be added.
