So I had an article linked years ago about dealer installed swirls and how to remove it but I can't find it. I guess I could use my DA to remove them? Afraid they thinned the hell out of the paint to remove the scratch that was there so I want to be gentle.

Any suggestions?

Thanks, I wasn't sure if it required a different process since they're typically from a rotary

Swirls come from poor washing technique. Holograms and buffer trails come from Rotary. You’d remove those with a polish and a DA.

I haven't washed the truck but twice... Yeha I know. These are from the dealer buffing out the single scratch in the door.

Swirls, hologram and buffer trails are the same. Washing causes spiderweb scratches, wash induced marring and cobweb scratches.

Do you think a light polish will remove the trails.?

Always try the least aggressive (lightest) products first. If they work, great.

If they don't fully get the swirls out, step it up. (IMO, I would go with a more aggressive pad and original product used. Next, a more aggressive product.....)

Gotcha. I was going to use HD polish+ on white flat LC pad, then I'll try an orange flat. If not I have some ex 04-06
