Dealer Work Help

Need a little advice. As much as i dislike this type of work i have been contacted by our local Acura Dealership to assist them with some cars. I love corrective work but at the end of the day there are bills that need to be paid. They have been having nothing but trouble with some of the other local area detailers and flat out arean't happy with their work or professionalism. I did a car for them which was a Black Acura RDX and they were blown away, now they would like our help with their used cars. Seeing as how there is only 2 of us and sometimes only myself i come to you folks to ask for a little advice on how to achieve results and shave off a little time?
I am considering picking up a steamer to assist us in cutting time, what are your thoughts? What would be a good mid grade steamer to obtain or if someone is selling one PM me.
Would you folks suggest a professional extractor or should the Little Green Bissell Heated be ok (i've used that for a while now)
I've never really been a huge fan of dealer work so i'm really open to hearing what you folks can suggest to me to help out with achieving great results while keeping the time spent per vehicle down as much as possible.
Might be a good time to talk to them about Opti-Coat for their new cars as well.

Are they looking to have you do the entire used lot or just a few cars?
Are you doing rates by car/truck/suv color and condition? Or flat rate??? Contract or job by job....

Why do you suggest a cyclo buffer over the others?
 
I'll need to find out. Most likely it will be a flat rate. Right now it's looking to be about $225 per car and this is a contract job with roughly 15-20 cars per month

That Tornado looks pretty sweet!

Noticed recently on most of the videos one man sites guys were using cyclos on hoods roofs doors larger flat panels in what im assuming covering more area quicker.

The tornador is my next purchase. The videos and some of the conversations I have read on here this paired with an extractor have done amazing things to interiors especially dingy headlinera stained from smoke.

Tornador will be your best friend if doing bulk dealer work. There is nothing that compared to it once you get the hang of it. It is even good for use with engines, door jambs (get an extra liquid container and put ONR in it), and pad cleaning.

It is truly one of those tools that you can live for many years without, but once you get one you will wonder why you didn't get one sooner.
 
First of all when dealers ask me to do work I make sure I get paid my normal fee. There is no reason to buy another buffer at all. I use my PC when ever doing dealer work. I bring all the cars to my shop and bring them back when I'm done. Never lower your price for a dealer if they want quality work then they will have to pay for it. My time is valuable to me and never use a tornado or and extractor on a head liner. The heading is only glued on and to much agitation can loosen the head liner.
 
+1 for Pureshine's post. Dealers make most of there money selling used cars.

For $225 what are you doing. Thats way to cheap for any paint correction involved.

Basic Cleaning inside and out. They didn't ask for any buffing but I figure I could maybe do a quick AIO to spruce it up.

This could be a great opportunity to allow me to get a shop or even move forward.

sorry for the post with misinformation i was going off how well they did on so many youtube videos...

Yuck. I had to to the thing same to an old Chevy Malibu once. Driver was a super heavy smoker. I was covered from head to toe with smoke smelling ACP.

Thanks for the memories, but yes Tornadors can be used on headliners if you must. For light soil I prefer an old MF damp with ONR.
 
I still wouldn't use one on head liner it's not worth taking the change. The headliner is one of the places that you need to be carefull with.
