I've mentioned that I'm scared of taking my car in for anything. Do you prepare the car in anyway? Tape on the door handles, tape on the wheels close to the lugnuts. Cover steering wheel, seats. Things like this. Do you go to the extreme to take a video or pics to assure it comes out the way it went in

Always request a walk around with the service scheduler and inspect the vehicle before and after and have him sign off on it. Also use the do not wash signs and have him sign off on that too. I tell my guy that he'll be on the hook for $500.00 if they wash my car as it has a show car professionally done finish and that's what it'll cost them if they screw it up.

My biggest promblem other than washing,is a lazy mechanic who can't pick up his feet and scuffs the plastic door sill.

Frank,

Is this visit for warranty work?
What all are you having done to the R/T?

I'm hearing a thud from the front suspension at low speeds. Maybe it's nothing but it just doesn't sound right to me. I'm gonna request to take one on the lot for a short drive to see if I hear the same thing

OK.

Then, (if they want to take a look at your
vehicle's front suspension), the only prep
I'd do is to make sure there is a very
visible "DO NOT WASH" sign.

I had the same car and had the same promblem, the factory wheel was bent.may not be your promblem but keep it as a possible solution.

I'm not getting anything from the steering wheel. It sounds like something is loose or possibly a bad rubber seal

Did you ever hear a clicking noise coming from the rear with the radio turned off and ac off.also the driver seat sounds like a spring popping where your bottom sits.

No It's not a clicking sound. There might not be anything wrong but it just doesn't sound right to me. At low speeds it's like theres nothing in the strut

I think the clicking sound was from a fuel pump in the rear.what year is yours

I tell them: "Treat it like Liberace's Piano..."

Honestly... I hand the keys and and say "call me when it's done".

Call me crazy but I think you should wash it before bringing it in. Mechanics will inevitably put their hands on the paint and rub against the panels as they walk by. The cleaner the surface, the less chance for marring.

I put up these signs, make sure they write "Do Not Wash" on the RO, and I take one walk around video of the car when I drop it off at the dealer getting close enough to the car that if damage was there it would be able to be seen in the video.

The problem is your Challenger still looks like an Accord.Im the MAN

LOL, I thought all this fuss was over an accord going by the profile pic.

Challenger a little different but still it's a production run car, I wouldn't worry too much about it.

I have a garage green Mustang GT Which is show car ready, with C quarts UK on it.

Sometimes you just got to hand him the keys walk away and pray and tell them to treat it like Liberace's piano.
😎

I know how you feel when you take your car somewhere to be serviced. You don't feel right until you get it back un-scarred and un damaged. You also don't want to let on that it bothers you so much because then you can almost be sure some jerk will do something JUST to get under your skin. I think the walk-around with a person in charge when dropping off your car is a good idea. Good luck
