What products can be used to safely clean foam pads..other than snappy clean? It seems like there should be something available at local auto parts store. Simple Green, etc.

Well if your looking for soemthing otc either a good citrus degreaser or APC will do. Otherwise XMT Pad Cleaner/Conditioner is great.

The XMT kit is great product for maintaining your pads.

I have found a sprayer of 10:1 ZEPs Citrus degreaser from Home Depot cleans most everything. Smells nice and rinses clean.
Can be harsh on skin. Do not get it on wax you wish to keep.

Microfiber detergents I have found to be very effective. I mix about 1/2 oz in 1 gallon of water and let soak for a couple hours, aggitate in the solution, then rinse, shake excessive water from the pads and then air dry.

I have XMT pad cleaner on order. So I guess I can just spray it on and then rinse off with warm water?

The only thing I don't like about the pad cleaning idea, is that then you have to let them dry to use again. Even after spinning them on speed 6, and even standing on them with in a towel, how dry are they? Don't they need to be completey dry in order to use again?

if you stand on them and run the pc on 6 they are definatly good enough to use again. Might be a little moist but definatly not bad

XMT Pad Cleaner. Green pad I sprayed 1/2 with XMT pad cleaner and rinse.

Would the Meg's Detailer Line All Purpose Cleaner work?
It will work, just be sure to dillute it with water properly. I would try something like 1(cleaner):20(water), see if that works. If not you can make it stronger. I would not make it any stronger then 1:10.

And by the way, I personally prefer APC+, because it doesn't foam up like APC does, so it will be easier to work with.

Good luck.

I love the XMT spray, same results as Sparkie. Literally changes color back to normal as you spray. It replaced the DP Cleaning solution for good.

ive have good results with the wolfgang powder pad cleaner. does everything i need it to do and smells good to boot.
