Deciding on Steam Cleaner and Extractor

I was looking at purchasing an extractor with 2 - 15 amp power cords so if I were at a customers house I would not require them to have a 20 amp circuit. I was looking at the Sandia unit part number 86-2200-H (not sure if we can post links to the outside).

I was going to purchase a Mytee but after reading many threads, it seems like if you have a problem, you are screwed. I am fine with spending the extra money on a 'commercial' carpet extractor.

Is the Mytee Lite II 15 amp or 20 amp like its older brother the HP60?

It's a crap shoot whether a given customer house has a readily accessible 20A circuit that is not being used for anything else, versus having two separate 15A circuits not being used for anything else. You might even have customers who have several 240V and 120V circuits in their garage, and others who only have a single 120V 15A, or maybe none at all in an old home without an enclosed garage.

Most customers probably don't want long extension cords draped through the interior of their house for several hours you are detailing, and you'd have to be sure those circuits were not being used for anything else that drew more than a trickle of current.

About the only way to be sure you can power up at every possible house it is to get a generator. Either that or live with the limitations of a machine that can run on a single 15A 120V circuit.

People cleaning carpets inside the house don't have to worry as much about these things, since the customer knows their house is going to be disrupted and there will be cords and hoses everywhere.

The only time we ever use heat on our Mytee Lite is if we use the generator. Never wanna run the risk that they don't have a large enough current and annoy then with a tripped breaker.

Stay away from Carmen Super Inox, until Dupray admits & recognize they have a problem with extraction hose.

What problem is this? I have not had a issue and I used it for about 10 interiors without a problem
