I noticed the same thing when I was stationed in the UK. Vehicles like that were often wider than the lanes on a two-lane road in some rural areas. Go into town? Forget it. They were too wide for the narrow medieval roads and too big for the parking lots and garages. I felt bad for the owners who ended up having to buy a vehicle locally just to get around.

I know exactly what you mean. It is very odd to see our big vehicles driving around locally. You know it's funny to see these kinds of vehicles driving down the Autobahn. They may be running a steady 80mph tops. I routinely pass them doing 100+...
