I had a customer contact me concerned about a scuff mark on the front corner of the bumper. After hearing a bit about the story the owner pulled into a parking spot too close to a wall.

To start off with the least aggressive method D155 LT and Meguiar's red C2100 call was used. Nothing.
At this point I would grab some kind of an adhesive remover but to my surprise I was out.
Not wanting to run out to the store to grab some, I decided to see if CarPro Tar-X would do the trick. At first it didn't seem to work but after a minute I began to run the areas by hand and saw that the mess began to turn milky and liquefy. I combined Tar-X with a small piece of clay and it made extremely short work of the affected area. (also started to liquefy the clay bar.)

I don't have any pictures of the during process of using that combination but wanted to share an experience.

After that, the mess left behind was cleaned up with Eraser and polished out with FG400, SF4000, and protected with Endless Shine.

Hopefully I see the vehicle in the future to give it a proper detail.

WOW. That turned out very well. Interesting combination of products.

Excellent work, Mike! The owner must have been ecstatic with the results :)

Great job!!! You're a plastic (bumper) surgeon!

Thank Mike!

Thank you Mike.

It was rather interesting but at that moment of not wanting to run out I had nothing to lose. Low and behold the combination really took care of the issue.

Excellent work, Mike! The owner must have been ecstatic with the results :)

Thanks Ian! The owner was thrilled and could not believe it!

They said they were going to go to the dealer to see what they had to say about the damage and get a quote for a repair. Luckily I stepped in right in time.

Great fix Mike! That was a nasty eye sore. I'm sure the owner was very pleased with the results.

nice save mike, i'm sure their reaction after you were done was priceless!

Well you still don't cease to amaze me. This damage unfortunately looks all too familiar too me. This month a good friend of mine has had a really bad month with his car, the Corrolla I polished last year.

So as usual thank you for the inspiration you have given me.

WOW! That turned out simply wonderful! Great job!

I've no-doubt the owner was more than pleased that his error was able to be corrected and what's left could easily be touched up and blended in nice.

Kudos to you.

Thanks Rod. I was pretty amazed at my combination of my paint transfer removal setup.

Good luck in dealing with the Toyota. :xyxthumbs:
