I have no idea if this will be absolute blasphemy on auto detailing board, but here it goes.
My 2006 Sentra's engine bay has never been cleaned. I do not have equipment or power/water outlets in my parking area. So far, I have been tolerating but now it is so bad that it is 'revolting'. When I open the hood and I do not stand it. It doesn't have too much plastic like most of the current gen. of vehicles. Its all open. So I thought I could get off-the-shelf degreasing wipes or make it myself using diluted APC (Super Clean or Simple green) and terry towels to wipe it down as much as I can. Afterwards, I can use waterless wash to make it look a little cleaner.
Good idea or a bad idea?
