Hi,
I just placed an order for the Deluxe water filter and softener kit from A.G. I also ordered an extra housing and some extral filters and washer/screens. I plan on running the water through 2 filters and then the softener cartridge. I am mounting the whole thing inside a small and light weight box so I can move it from the shop to on location. I am planning on filling up a 150 gallon tank to take mobile but still want the filter/softener unit portable. I am hoping that it makes a difference in the water quality. My shop water comes from a 300 foot well and is very hard with high mineral content. I looked at several different systems, but I like this one the best. I hope it works like I expect. I will be reporting on it shortly.
Thanks,
William

William you will be please, esp with that shop water you have!

I'll be waiting for your review with baited breath. I too have a well (at my home) and was thinking about this system instead of using city water. My concern is how quickly the filter will clog up using well water.

Yea please let us know what you think and how it performs also just a thought by a water test kit which are real inexpensive to test before use this system and after.......

just a note for what i heard not to good of reviews....

want to know

Feed back please How did this turn out ? Does anyone have one of these filter systems and how do they do as to softening and getting rid of the sediment, sounds good but just want to know if it works

Being mobile too, I'd like to here more about this. I want to see a review!
I'd like to see some pics of your setup.
Thanks bro!

I have one on the way. I have pretty hard water so I'll be interested to see the difference. I should be receiving next week. Once I get it hooked up and try it out I'll let you guys know how it works.

Cool,

I am also interested in one of these, also wondering about the life of the resin and an average of how many gallons of water can be filtered before the resins need to be regenerated..

Please let us know your findings...

Remember..the more dissolved solids in your water...Calcium..Magnesesium...the faster the resins get exhausted and need to be recharged...

your best bet if you are going to make a lot of DI water..is to get a TDS (total dissolved solids) meter..or a conductivity meter..these meters are both the same. they measure the hardness in the water..

with these you can test your water first time you use the filter...and record it..than after you you refill your tank take another reading...

As you see the resins getting exhausted(you get higher readings) you will know it is time to recharge them....buy a 40 pound bag of solar salt..it is used for water softeners....this is used to recharge the resin..they exchange the mineral ions for salt ions...

this is a sample of how the readout is interpreted...in PPM

Classification mg/l or ppm grains/gal
Soft 0 - 17.1 0 - 1
Slightly hard 17.1 - 60 1 - 3.5
Moderately hard 60 - 120 3.5 - 7.0
Hard 120 - 180 7.0 - 10.5
Very Hard 180 & over 10.5 & over

hope this helps you....I make 200 gallons a week of pure water (0 PPM) for saltwater reef tanks....I have some DI systems from Germany....so i have a Idea on DI water....
