Tell your kids not to worry. I took those pictures in the Bahamas last year. Although the last time I saw him he was heading west towards Florida.

Thanks Ryan

Went to Destin last year and had a great time. Water was sooo clear. I only saw one shark and it was about 100 yards out. Just keep an eye out. I went to the Red Bar and it was pretty good. Nice drinks. Definately not much to do at night besides have a drink. Very relaxing. Very nice beaches and white sand.

Thanks everybody for all the info! I just wish Autogeek was close to Destin.:(
Thanks again Ryan

Don't worry Ryan you have a greater chance of getting hit by lightening then attacked by a shark. Have a great time.

I am going there in a couple of weeks and was wondering where would be some places to go?
Thanks Ryan

There are plenty of places to go, just don't go in the water.

Enjoy yourself.
Watch out for the surf & riptides. It's been wicked the past week. Red flags every day.

Reminds me when I was out on the waverunner one day and pulled up on the beach next to the inlet to relax. Here comes a fishing boat into the inlet towing what looked like a huge fish behind it in the water. Ends up it was a massive Hammerhead, didn't fit on the boat LOL.

Pshhh what rip tide...currents are for wussies...Surfs Up :righton::D

Tell them Surfer! Don't whip out because of a few sharks and rip tide. During the summer there sometimes 50-100 hammerheads off the beach. They come in looking for stingrays and get big about 12' or so. I have never heard of a hammerhead attact on a human. It's the bull sharks you have to worry about. Watch out for the bull!

I didn't realize you were driving down here. With the winds still blowing, look out for your
paint. The sand here can really mess it up when it gets kicked up by the wind. See my post:

We parked in the parking lot! We are staying at Pelican Isle in Fort Walton. Its a pretty nice place!

Them bull sharks have a nasty attitude:mad:...you have a better chance of hanging out with an Great White and not getting attacked lol. Couple years ago we were out durring the Hurricanes when they were approaching....huge...huge friggen waves. There are some shallow patches where we live and I caught one wave that was pry 15 feet and it just drilled me straight down into the sand, board snapped back and put a gash in my leg but I didn't realize it. Started paddling back out and my buddy was like "holy sh!t, look at your leg". Wasn't big, only like a 1-2" gash but it was deep, and bleeding like crazy, I didn't even feel it for some reason untill I realized it was from when the baord hit me. There were sharks at the time b/c fins were popping up all over mainly chasing the mullet/bait fish around and you could shee large dark shadows below...needless to say I caught the next wave and didn't even stand up, layed down and rode it all the way in LOL, I wasn't staying out there with a bleeding leg :D

My uncle lives in Hawaii and is a big surfer over there, one of the Metallica guys (think James) lives next door and they go out. He wanted me to do some big wave surfing towing in, but all it took was to look at the size of those waves and hear the sound the made when breaking and I was like "hell no". Thats like a suicide wish.
