So I get out of work early..Good start. I'm driving home to get my Ag package I have been tracking. Truck in front of me drives over a retread in the middle of a two lane

highway and I have no room to do anything but take it on the chin. No popped tire but I think it misaligned something because my driver side door gap looks different in

comparison to the fender. No one will notice except an ocd junior detailer like myself. Now I don't even want to play with the new goodies!! Ever have something happen to your

car and get your detail buzz killed??

Yea I had a real buzz killing moment myself recently, I sold my baby aka my car in preparation for my child that's gonna be here in about 2 months, sorry to hear about your car though, I'd still go out there with your goodies it should still cheer you up some :)

Sorry to say it was my Fusion.

Unfortunately, this happens. The other day we had an isolated weather cell that dumped hail at my work. (high winds almost at a 45 degree angle mixed with dime size hail peppered my car's driver's side 1/4 panel and hood. This of course was after I had detailed it in the morning.

Sucks. Too bad there aren't serial #s on those. One tore up my dads car a few years back.

I guess I don't understand what happened, but if your doors became misaligned, it could mean a bent frame. You ought to have it looked at if that's the case.

Yeah this happened to my ride one week after I dropped the insurance back to liability only from full coverage. The dork that did it was uninsured too.

Sorry to hear about the flying alligator.

Funny thing is now that I look at that dent in my door it looks like an angry frowning smiley.

I hit a retread in my wife's maxima before the tag came in for it. Busted the front end up bad. Hasn't been the same since. Three weeks ago I spent all weekend detailing it. Two days later she hit a deer. LOL Can't help but laugh.

I received the buzz kill twice:

My 2004 SRT-4 Neon was finally going to get a detail as I caught a break in customers, then the trans took a dump. Now it's at RealTune Performance getting a rebuild :).

I pick up my 1988 Oldsmobile Delta 88 from the in-laws and started driving that daily. I had a long conversation with Kevin Brown over a couple days about sanding the whole thing down, and wouldn't you know it - the engine blew :(.

Hey guys. We're all at the mercy of the road and "other" drivers. Sorry to hear those stories and thank you for the feedback. I am going to get my front end looked at because

it was a hard hit. I could of swirved but I was side by side with a semi. I took what room I could so I at least didn't send it directly under my vehicle. I swear it felt like a ran over

a parking block. So shocked the tire didn't pop. Can you tell this BOTHERS me? Thanks

again

Have you ever lifted a tractor trailer retread? They can be over 50 pounds dependent on the tread thickness. I took a square hit by one in my old "88" Buick LeSabre T-type. It actually broke the front bumper cover in pieces. I was going to ride my motorcycle that day too. If I had, I may not be here typing this now.

I took my trans am in for an oil change. I had just washed it the night before. I hear the tech finish and start the car. I hear it pull out of the bay and I hear the motor rev and tires spin and CRASH. Building shakes, and I see people run over to where I heard the sound. I go out to find my car part way in the building with an A/C unit on the hood.

Put it in the shop for repair and get it out on a Friday. Went to my uncles house on Saturday and my cousin backs into it. Back in the shop it went

Wow twister!!! That stinks!! Unbelievable bad luck!!

Speaking of Trans-Am buzz kills, this is an old photo and my father still owns this T-A but talk about a buzz kill. It took him, myself, 7 of my friends to shovel the snow off of the carport and a chainsaw to get the car back out. The insurance company totaled it and Dad bought it back from them at junk prices and had it fixed. You can see this car in a lot of the reflection shots in my show and shine threads.

I know all about this situation...I had done a full paint correction on my wife's Saturn (took 3 full days) as a gift for her she was so happy then 2 days after the competion she hit a deer and t the body shop it went with FULL instructions NOT to buff when done, do you think they listened to those instructions? NO they thought that they would do the whole car as the damage was the hood, ft bumper, ds mirror, door rear ds door, rear 1/4, and rear bumper... "We had to blend the job" was the answer that I got when I called after she picked it up... can we say swirl and buffer trail city all over the car? YEP!

1 month before I did a full pc on my Rover and then 4 days later we got a fluke slush storm some idiot cut me off and caused me to hydroplane right into a concrete barrier... front of the truck got smashed and I had just switched to liability because of tight financials...

Here is a before of my Rover:

Yep... The guys at the shop were surprised to see me again. They thought I wasn't happy with the work they did when they saw me
