Got a text from a guy about getting his CTSV cleaned up for a magazine shoot. I'm sure most of you will recognize the car as it's the fastest stock blocked ctsv in the nation. Car was pretty well maintained minus a few spots where the body shop either drug something across the front of it or rubbed something hard on it. Either way, it all came out and I'll post up only a fraction of the photos I took. On another note this color was super hard to photograph to show the true defects and outcome. Not sure why, but even the owner said the same thing.

Exterior:

  • ONR with a ton of CG MF's.
  • Speedy Prep towel fine
  • Wheels/barrels were hit with ONR and wheel specific black MF towels to ensure no marring
  • Wheel wells and rubber were hit with APC 5:1 & various brushes
  • Tires dressed with Show Room FX White Pearl
  • CarPro Eraser
  • Wells treated with CG Bare Bones
  • D300 Meguiars MF Cutting Disc
  • D301 Meguiars MF Polishing Disc

On to the pics.

Here you can see the sun gun showing the swirls but to the west and east of the center of the light you can see the up and down marks.

Here was a spot where it looked like they took a scotch brite pad and ran it across the hood in one section:

Beautiful work on a wicked CTS-V

Thank you! This was actually veryyyyyyyyy easy. The hardest part was removing the 6 sets of drag radial rubber on the rear wells.

That's one hot shade of blue, nice work.:props:

No engine pics?

I totally agree! My new favorite color besides CYBER GREY.

Honestly, it's nothing special. Heads, Cam, Nitrous car so nothing extraordinary.

Wow, I have never seen that color before. That Cadillac looks stunning ad you've made it even more prettier! Great detail on a beautiful sleeper! ;)
Love the color with the rims and brakes.

Not really much more to do to a modern car than the heads, cam and spray, so that is a lot IMO! Its not like different pistons are going to help as they're up to task due to what the car is dealing with from the factory, as are the rods and crank, all parts are bullet proof from the factory.

Car looks stunning and you don't see that color too often as its new but I've seen 2 or 3 and my neck always twists to see it, LOL!

Eh, I see what you're saying. In the LS community, those mods aren't anything crazy or out of the norm is what I guess I was saying.

Beautiful results, your work will make the photo shoot easy to capture from any angle! (inside of the exhaust tips are nice and clean too!)

Great job.

If its two colors I love, they are Red & Blue. Great job on that beast mode CTS-V.

Nice taping job & photo shots. This one came out perfect!

Nice job! I love those cars. When seen on the road, they have such a presence.:xyxthumbs:

That car is nasty, I want one more than words can express and I've almost convinced the old lady to let me do it :-)

Looks awesome, great work.

I'd love to see the magazine pics if you can get a hold of them.

No worries. I'll be picking up a few copies myself. Usually takes a couple of months for them to publish but he should get the drafts prior... at least from my previous experience with these types of things. :props:

That color is awesome, have never seen that before on them. Bet that car moves pretty good for its size!

That color looks great on that car. It's not factory, is it?

Nice job on the detail.
