Detail Fest 2007

I also like the car ..... maybe because it’s our car!

I’d like to thank Justin for his demo, Ed for showing me how to and where to tape my car prior to polishing and waxing (also gave me a roll of tape), Scott for helping me spend over $400 and his partner in crime (name ?) for carrying the box of stuff we bought to our car. Also the 2 guys demoing the edge products. Guess which pads I got for our new Cyclo polisher?

Also thanks to my wife for accompanying me and for allowing me to eat a hamburger and hotdog. First hamburger in 6 months and 1st hotdog in a year. I’m not supposed to eat meat health reasons.

Big big thanks to everyone from Autogeek $15 for a tee shirt and a box of goodies what a great bargain.

Gerry

Wish I could have been there, looks like yal had fun. If I was there, my truck would have been best in show!:D

Here I am in dreary Seattle looking over these pictures...

Looks like you all had a great time!!!

The "dish" is the massive lip that on the outside of those rims.

That car was ruined with those rims. They probably weigh 100lbs each and totally destroyed the speed and handling of the M6. I would only go lighter on rims on a sports car like that, not 2x the weight. But to each their own.

Not to mention the rubberband tires. Hard to get good traction on that small of a sidewall.

Gerry .... it was truly a nice experience to meet you and your wife. You both have a great hobby (detailing) but watchout that Cyclo may go inside to polish the countertops and bathrooms ... my bodyguard was Ernie.

And the verdict is.....

I'm coming next year!!! hahahaha

Justin came from Georgia as did his partner. Another group of Corvette guys showed up in a White Vette full of saran wrap from Georgia. And then we had the guy that flew in from New York. Not to mention product vendors from all over the country. I dont know how Detailfest III can top it, but sure Capt Max is already tinkering on ideas.

Specal thanks to Ernie for carrying our purchases to the car.

Gerry + Lilly

I'm going to have to start taking note so I can remember names.

Next question name of the owner of the blk corvette Justin startred on?

I must have spent a total of 1/2 hour talking to him. Saw pictures of his garage. :applause: NICE!!!

actually, when your running stretched 295's, you should be fine with traction, that is wideeeeee... i dunno if i posted it on here but i have a rear shot of the wheel, its insanely wide

We have 295's running all over the place on Mustangs. But a wide tire on a smaller rim size is going to be better.

Anyways, that car still looked sick!

but stretched rubber is better for cornering, which is why many european cars doit...mine are slightly stretched but i want to go wider...i think they may rub too much. anyways i think its pretty obvious at any rate that the m6 isnt bieng used for its performance. with a wheel diameter that big, and its a vert, its more a status symbol anyways

Having a bigger tire on a smaller rim is not better, you lose the complete
contact area of the tire. Plus it stresses the sidewall, which is unsafe.
