Detail Fest Classes are filling up fast!

I'll be teaching 2 hands-on machine detailing mini-classes on Saturday, March 27 at two different times, one will be at 9:00 a.m. and the other will be at 2:00 p.m.

If you registered your car to be in Detail Fest and want to attend the class, you must go to one of the two links below and enroll yourself in a class. It is no additional charge on top of the $20 you have already paid. We just need to know which class if any you would like us to hold a spot for you in.

9 a.m. Class March 27

2 p.m., Class March 27

If you want to attend either of these classes you must register.

This is a great way to learn the basics machine polishing and machine sanding. It's also a GREAT way to test out any of the electric polishers you read about on our forum but have never had a chance to use.

Both classes will include using the correct technique for the following polishers and then the students will be encouraged to test out the polishers during the hands-on portion of the class.

  • Porter Cable 7424XP Dual Action Polisher
  • Meguiar’s G110v2 Dual Action Polisher
  • Griot’s Garage ROP Dual Action Polisher
  • Griot’s Garage 3” Mini Dual Action Polisher
  • Cyclo Polisher Dual Head Polisher
  • Flex 3401 Forced Rotation Dual Action Polisher
  • Flex 3403 Lightweight Rotary Buffer
  • Flex 603 Full Size Rotary Buffer
  • Makita 9227C Full Size Rotary Buffer
  • Dewalt 849 Full Size Rotary Buffer
The basics of machine sanding will be demonstrated with the Meguiar’s Professional Unigrit Machine Sanding and Finishing System.

It wants to charge shipping.. I assume you will remove this,

Hey Meghan. The link that you show, needs to be updated if that is the case. Because it says if you paid the $20, you are automatically enrolled into the 9am class. Just a heads up.

If you have registered for Detail Fest by paying the $20 fee, you are already enrolled in this class. There is no need to re-register.

***Update***

The new Meguiar's 4" Spot Buff Repair pads will be available for you to try out in both classes on both DA Polishers and Rotary Buffers but you must be signed up to attend this class.

Meguiars Black Soft Buff 4 Inch Foam Finishing Pads 2 Pack

Meguiars Yellow Soft Buff 4 Inch Foam Polishing Pads 2 Pack

Meguiars Burgundy Soft Buff 4 Inch Foam Cutting Pads 2 Pack

Meguiars Easy Buff Knitted Wool 3 Inch Pads 2 Pack

These come in real hand for hard to buff areas and long thin panels...

Is this the same as the Detailing 101 class or is it just a shortened version? I noticed in the posting it is a mini class. Just curious.

This is what I am referring to.

It's going to be a fast paced mini class with the sole purpose of going over the different Rotary Buffers, the DA Polishers, the Flex 3401, Machine Damp-Sanding and the Cyclo Polisher.

After the classroom portion break out the polishers and everyone will be able to choose and use any or all of the different polishers they're interested in.

  • We'll have just about ever type of buffing pad known to man
  • Meguiar's Unigrit Foam Finishing Discs
  • Menzerna, Optima, Mother's, XMT, Wolfgang,Meguiar's, Poorboy's Finish Kare, and 3M compounds and polishes to test out plus an array of microfiber polishing towels to test out.

We think it will be a "Kid in a Candy Store" experience that you don't want to miss out on.

Plus... we'll be in our brand new Training Classroom!

I'll have a "rental victim", err... I mean a rental car on hand as well as some demo hoods and students will be welcome to also test product out on their own car.

:)

Thanks for response Mike, I know you are very busy. This is the reason I haven't used my PC XP and XMT polishes yet, waiting for your class to go over proper technique. I received all of this around Christmas and it's killing me not to try it!
