...been avoiding the black car till i got my new polishes in..i examined this car last week and knew my ssr2.5 wasnt going to be enough for this ride...client didn't want to wait any longer so I made due with stuff I got locally..
on to the pic/process
WASH:
MEGS NXT WASH...MICRO CHENILLE MITT....FOAM GUN....
CLAY:
MEGS SMOOTH SURFACE KIT....nothing but good things to say about this kit..was skeptical when I first bought it out of desperation but its been working like a champ and leaves no marring
WHEELS:
Washed the wheels inside and out..use PB wheel cleaner...a true spray and rinse....I only use it on coated oem wheels...bare aluminum look out...will probably spot...
INTERIOR:
Got my usual treatment of 303 cleaner and protectant...leather was treated with pb leather stuff.....
POLISH:
Had some severe swirls on this one and my new order isn't in yet so I got some heavy duty stuff locally...pretty much equal to a level 3/4 swirl remover....i.e xmt3/4, ssr3....used with an edge orange pad...dusted like crazy but in the pics you will see the results of the first pass with this stuff...the only thing I like about the stuff is the passes only took about 2 minutes and did a good job doing the heavy duty correcting....i knew i was following up with a finer polish so the minor swirls left behind didn't bother me because I knew my ssr1 would take care of them...
Followed up with a blue edge pad and ssr1 to get rid of any hazing, micro marring. and minor leftover swirls......
WAX/LSP:
Not on the mainstream market yet but the guys I got the swirl remover from hooked me up with a jar of wax they are about to release...to me it smells like buttered popcorn....easy on/easy off like souveran...doesn't stain...no waiting for it to haze...great stuff....has all the properties a high end wax should have...deep reflective shine...this paint has no metal flake so I am waiting so see if it brings out "pop" or mellows out flake.....going to try it on my car next...
On to the pics....
The hood SWIRLS....
The SWIRLS (believe it or not this car is actually washed and waxed once a week
..goes to show you what happens to paint when using a poor washing technique for 6 years)
50/50 shots that everyone likes (this was my first try with the new stuff...worked much better as I figured out the polish better)
Another 50/50 shot (this pass took less than 2 minutes
) speed 6 on my pc one slow pass did this much correction...and i mean literally ONE slow pass...didn't even come back around...just moved along covering 50 percent of my previous buffer "track" and the panel was brought to this point...the white spots are DUST everywhere...
THE RESULTS:
HOOD SCOOP:
SIDE SHOT:
THATS MY RIDE IN THE REFLECTION::righton:
THOUGHT I TOOK A RANDOM PICTURE ACCIDENTALLY THEN I REALIZED THIS WAS THE REFLECTION OFF THE ROOF THAT I TOOK:
Feed back please
