This wasn't a major detail, since there was no polishing envolved. It was simply wash and wax, engine and interior detail.
The process:
I started with the engine first.
Covered altenator, fans, and belts with plastic bags first. Then Spray Zep CD (cut 1:1) on engine, and all plastic and rubber around it. Let it soak for about 5 minutes, then respray a little more again. I used short handle green bristle brush for all stubborn grease build up. Then rinsed everything with a strong jet of water. removed all plastic bags, and wiped off all major water spills with a terry towel. Then sprayed AA tire foam on all rubber and plastic, closed the hood, and cranked up the engine. I washed the car while it was running.
Wash with Meguiar's Super Soap and added a cup of Poorboy's Bug Squash, and whilte/yeallow Shmitt.
This was my first time using this shampoo. I bought it (only a small sample)a while ago from Autodetailingsolutions, but never got a chance to try it out.
Average foam, and average cleaning power (even with a cup of Poorboy's BS). What I did like about it though was it breaks down quickly when rinsing,
which means you spand less time rinsing your vehicle off. While wet, I sprayed the car with Megs Last touch Spray detailer and clayed it with Megs blue pro clay. I do like the clay, but their lubricant is obviously no the best. It kinda degrages the clay bar, and no I will not buy this detailer again. I quickly rewashed the car, rinsed it and dried with a guzzler.
tires/wheel wells were cleaned with ZEP CD cut 1:1. Since it was my first major detail on this car I decided to clean everything well. ZEP CD did a very fine job.
Wheels - DP Gel wheel cleaner and oxo brushes.
Trim received 303 protectant.
Waxed the car with Collinite 476S. Yes, no paint cleaner. Paint had only little swirls, and since it was washed/clayed well, I went straight into waxing. Love 476S. I primed foam applicator pad with Mothers Showtime QD, and applied the wax very thinly. I used the WOWO method, removing wax immediately, before it dries. I use this method for all paste waxes.
Interior Pinnacle leather cleaner and conditioner (2 separate steps), and Poorboy's natural look on vinyl.
Here is some befores:
