Today I had the chance to pick up 5 more vehicles.....all from the same home. The customer is in Colorado hunting and told me to detail his truck when I go the time. Well today was it's day. I lost the last two days of work due to the flood that fell here. Now I'm covered up! This also let me test out another Collinite product.

Here's the truck's process....
Start Time:
7:00am
Finish Time:
3:00
Price:
350.00

Washed with Meguiar's NXT Car Wash
(Used EDGE Wash ShMitt and clayed during wash)

XMT#2

(Used EDGE2K Green Wave Pad at a #5 PC setting)
The paint was not in bad condition. I just wanted to remove some light tree branch scratches and car wash wax. I really love using this polish. It really cleans and you don't have to use alot of it.

Look.....I match!

Before and after with XMT#2....front door is done and the rear is not.

Collinite’s Marque D’Elegance Carnauba Paste Wax

(Applied by foam applicator and removed by PC with MF bonnet)
Wow. This wax is nice. Went on alot smoother than 845. Alot like Meg's #26 paste. Experiencing the removal of #845 by hand, I elected to do someting I haven't done it a while. I removed the wax with PC and bonnet on a #4 setting, flipping the bonnet over half way through removal. This made it so easy. Polished up to a remarkable shine! Even popped the flake.

awesome. ive been waiting for you to try the marque out! So what are your impressions of the wax? what kind of look does it tend to give? more of a reflective sealant look or a deap carnuba shine? mix of the two?

thanks for this. just trying to gather all the info i can before i invest in some.

Very nice Justin........ Man I really look forward to your reviews every couple of days.
Keep'm coming
Question what did you use for the engine clean up?

That truck looks GREAT! Very nice job. It's awesome that you are constantly trying new products and reviewing them for us.

How long did this big truck take you?

I used Purple Power and let sit for 15 minutes. Came back a pressure washed. While wet, I sprayed Armor All Tire Foam over everything. I then cranked the engine and let run for 15 minutes until warm. I let sit while I did everything else. About 3 hours later I wiped it all down with a MF mitt.

about 8-9 hours on this one. Lots of leather and lots of paint!

The smell wasn't nice. But who cares?!?!
I believe this is due to its formula for longevity. I did notice ALOT more slickness than 845. Felt like silk after buffing off with the PC. This process helped alot. It reminded me alot of Megs #26 but with a harder shell like finish. A little goes along way once your pad is primed. I might try applying with the PC next time. I just like using my hands for paste waxes.
If the durability is there, this may be my new every detail wax. I'm already sold on it's looks. For 30.00, it's a deal.

Man Justin!!! Your arms are hairy! lol :p J/K

The truck looks awesome and you did a fantastic job as always! :applause:

Did you apply dressing to those floor mats? They look so dark and shiny. :)

I always love your engine bay shots! They always look clean enough to eat off of. :)

Thanks for the review on the Collinite! The paint looked fantastic! :applause:

Do you buff with a towel by hand after removing the wax with the PC? Or is it removal and buff with the PC?

Was the liquid insulator wax really that tough to remove? I'm thinking if it was tough for someone like yourself who does this everyday, then my arm would probably fall off if I removed by hand.

I'm currently using OCW and NXT. I haven't had a chance to try the DP or EX-P sealant that I have yet. I was going to put the Collinite over the DP or EX-P.

Fantastic work! My father in law has the exact same truck in the exact same color. He's waiting for me to do a full detail on it and now I have a guide to perfection!

Thanks Jen......
Yeah I use Hyper Dressing cut 4:1 for the mats. I spray them and let them soak for about an hour then wipe them down. There's no oily mess to get on the pedals either.
Engines are now easy for me. I've learned time management. I let one step be working while I do another.....multi tasking. It's hard with myh ADD. LOL!
