Detailed: 2007 Chevrolet Corvette Z06 - Black

great job marco what did you use on the door pillar to remove the swirls?

Thank you SC! I used D300, the same compound I used on the entire car.

Beautiful work!

Such a great looking car.

Thanks for the compliments, tw33k!!!

That looks GREAT! Awesome job bringing that back to life.

Thank you, TheMethod!

Hey look! The paint matches the windows! Lol. Beautiful work!!!

Thanks, BlackG! The paint sure does look like a mirror now.

Wowowow!

Nice work Marc!

Thanks a lot , JMV!

awesome Marc. it seems your getting better and better with each and every car you work on.

Thank you so much for the kind words and compliments, Cg6LeMoN! That means a lot. I'm just trying to make each and every car I detail as perfect as I can.

Impressive :applause:

I did notice some of the hazing. That would be corrected by wet sanding?

Thanks a lot, David! M205 took out the hazing.

-Amazing results!! Your detailing skills are moving onward and upward. :dblthumb2:

-I wouldn't worry about the hours it took to complete your masterpiece...As long as your "hourly rate" was met.

-Also...May I asked what product, if any, you used for the 'final detail' of the lower bumper extension and wheel wells? (I saw Meg's Hyper Dressing, for the tires, in your products listing) Thanks.

:)

Bob

Thank you so much for the kind words and compliments, Bob!!! I really appreciate it.

That's the problem... I'm not meeting my hourly rate. I actually thought about quitting jobs that don't want to pay up. I made like $17/hr on this job which is very low... I hope I can make what the top notch detailers are making which is $50/hr... I set a time frame for my details but I blow past them by a long shot... :(

I didn't use any dressing on the rear valence and the wheel wells. The car was in great shape to begin with. I wish all cars are like this. :)

Great work on that Vette. Looks fantastic.

Thank you, Nick! I appreciate it.

The reflection shots in the garage are great! M205 really fixed the hazing and the Ultimate Wax made it look really wet. Nice work Marc!

Thanks a lot, Don! I love M205 as a finishing polish and UPW as the LSP on black cars. People really need to give UPW a shot. It's GREAT STUFF.

great job, love vettes :xyxthumbs:

Thank you, scrib! You have a nice C6 yourself. I really want a C6 as my DD now.

:wow: Awesome :dblthumb2:

Thank you, Rix!

now that is one fine looking vette after the clean up! Really nice turn around. :props:

Thanks so much, lokichaos! I was blown away with the results myself.

Great work man!

Thank you, shoeless!

Wow really nice. You made the paint glisten.

Thanks a lot, Skate! The gloss was just out of this world.

Extremely good job... How did the black pad work on that hard paint..
I have tried black pad and 205 on hard paint and cant get it to look that good.

Thank you, mbkite! The black pad with M205 work beautifully! It removed the hazing left behind by D300. I love M205.

WOOOOWWW!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Beautiful job, Marc!!

How long did it take you?

What speed did you use with the MF discs?

Thanks for the compliments, Mark!!! You seriously have a nice ride!!! I want a Z06!! Maybe I can get a ride when I go to CA?

It took me 18 hours... I wish it was shorter... I used speed 4 on my g110v2 per Meguiar's recommendations.

Awsome Job Marc! Looks really good!!!!!!

Thank you so much, dad!!

GOODNESS!!! That thang is purty!!! Great job man! Thanks for sharing!

I think your work speaks for itself- great job!

What ideas do you have to get your "hourly rate" to where you want it? I'm wondering where you could save some time, and seeing if I could use any of the same techniques.

WOW! Turned out sweet. I bet the owner walked past it and didn't even recognize her. I like seeing a car that is pretty well taken care of and then a detailer gets a hold of it and ta-da, the magic happens. That 'Vette is a great example. Well done!

I think this shot says it all. Great job.:props:

Thanks a lot, Chris!! I love the garage shots myself.

Thank you so much, Alex!! I agree. I wish I had this car as my DD.

Thank you Stang Man! I want to get around $50/hr or at least somewhere close to it.

sure is a beauty ...

Thank you for the kind words, Scott! You have a beautiful car.

Looks great!

Thanks, Ted!

Thank you, Rockinrandall! The owner was blown away when he saw his car. I wish all cars were this clean.

I picked up Megs Ultimate Paste Wax at Wally World today because of this ZO6 Detail. I know the prep makes the pop, but those reflections and gloss look sick!

Looks great!!! Makes me miss my black Corvette even more than I already did. :-(

Wow Nice Work Marc! That looks like a portfolio project for future customers to see!:dblthumb2:

You are making me jealous working on great cars like this!:props:

Don't even worry about speed right now, it's quality that counts. As you get more experience and perfect your technique the speed will come! A fantastic outcome like this is what you need your name attached to right now! GREAT Job my friend!:props:
