Light from a flash is a cool blue light. The shots of the front seat were very well lit by sunlight (which is a warmer light, i.e more red). Because the front seats were so well lit, the camera put out less flash light. This is called fill light.

You can see that the rear seats were mostly in shade. Shade is a very cool light to begin with. Add to that the cool blue of the flash. You end up with a very cool temperature range for the light and that is what changes the color of interior from tan to grey.

All cameras (digital or film) will try to create an exposure that is 17% grey. Take a shot of something white (snow, paper, etc.) with no flash. There will be a grey tone to the image.

How long does the Armor All gel last? I'm wondering if it's more economical than a spray?

I've found that no matter what aerosol or pump spray product I use, a single coat will not last a drive thru rain or more than two washes. I've found that 2 coats applied about a day apart hold up really well...but then I go thru the aerosol sprays really quick and the pump sprays almost as fast.

I agree I really love the Armor All tire gel, no overspray, goes on easy, real shiny and lasts a while. :righton:

I find it more economical. I wouldn't get it if it wasn't!
Lasts about a week the first time you use it. It seems to really build on itself and protect. I can tell when I do mine. I've been using it on my truck for about 6 weeks. The last time I washed it, I didn't even put more on....it looked like a new tire.

Thanks, I'll have to try it out. I think I've tried more tire products than all of my other products combined.

I was trying to find the best for the buck being in the business. I loved Megs NXT Insane Shine aerosol but at 6 bux a can it was not good. I like Hyper Dressing but did not last long. This seems to be a great medium for me. Works awesome on trim too.

Yup, I have the Insane Shine spray, looks great. But hate aerosol sprays and won't buy another. I custom made wheel covers to hold so crap didn't spray on my chrome wheels. Plus insane shine is like a sealent almost, the coating has to set and if not dirt/crap whatever picked up sticks to it like glue.

Have you tried Meg's Endurance High Gloss gel? Now that's some good durability there. But for ease of use I think I'm gonna try that Armarol stuff.

I like Hyper Dressing on the plastic trim around my windows and mirrors and also on my nose cover. It seems to hold up well there. The bra seems to really soak up the dressing and hold on to it. It doesn't do well on any other spot that gets blasted with rain, i.e. front windshield trim, tires, mudguards.

I use Meg's Hotshine pump spray on those areas. I just spray a few drops (literally a few drops...this stuff goes a long way) onto a rag and wipe those spots. The Hotshine does last quite awhile but is tough to apply neatly on your tires. It also slings like crazy if it doesn't fully cure or get wiped down.

I'm going to try that next. Local store has it on clearance for $3. Can't beat that for a test.

How did you like the DP final finishing polish? Did you use it in the shade or full sun? If you used it in full sun, how was it? Did it dry too quickly?

I'm looking for a non-abrasive polish that can be used in full sun if necessary. I plan on topping it with Poorboy's EX-P sealant.
 
Indoors, the DP Finishing Polish is very nice. Gives a very nice gloss and depth. I've found the Opt Polishes/Menzerna give a better finish though.
 
Aren't the Opt and Menzerna polishes abrasive? If so, I already have some abrasive polishes. I'm looking for a good chemical polish that can perform better than Klasse AIO in full sun.

What about the Poorboy's ProPolish line, or the one with carnauba? I can't remember if i's abrassive but pretty sure it is? PM Scott (Killrwheels) I'm sure he'd know.
 
Poorboy's polish is abrasive. FloridaNative confirm with Steve from Poorboy's already.

So far, only DP and Klasse AIO are chemical polishes.
