Detailed: 2007 Toyota FJ Cruiser - Black Cherry Pearl (Trashed Off-Road Revival)

This is trick photography!!!!!!! You had a perfectly good FJ and you reversed the order of the pics as you were trashing it..... joking!

Those pics made me cringe and clench my teeth at first (literally)! What a come back

The question now is: "Is he planning on going offroading again?"
Question #2: "Why didn't you do the wheels? It would have dressed up the FJ to a new level"

Amazing work!

Thank you, Regency!

Holy crap, that thing was trashed. Nice work, truly night and day difference.

I'm curious to know how much more he ends up getting on trade.

Thanks a lot, 90sedan!!

I will keep everyone posted with how much more he got for this car.

Really awesome turn around mate.

I am very interested to hear what the dealer did in terms of a revised trade in price.

Thank you so much, lawrenceSA!

Marc, like I said elsewhere, I think that's your best correction to date!

I nearly fell off my chair looking at the afters. Props to you :xyxthumbs:

Thanks a lot for the compliments, Davey!!! I sincerely appreciate your kind words.

Thanks, Kyle!

I bet he doesn't even want to trade it in after that! Just amazing.

Thank you so much, Swanic!

Two comments: first of all the Meg's MF DA correction system remains an outstanding system as these pictures show. D300 or other Meg's SMAT polishes coupled with a DA polisher and a MF pad remain a formidable combination for compounding.

Secondly, D301 doesn't get much love on this forum but on harder paints its an incredible product. It's super fast (fast arm speed, usually just two passes), and is a dream to work with.

I think the D300-301 combo is the easiest, fastest way to get the results you see here using a DA polisher.

Nice job.

Thank you, Silverfox! The Meguiar's MF correction system is definitely a great innovation in detailing and the results are hard to beat. People also don't give D301 enough credit. It's so easy to use and it looks pretty good.

It s what I call an extreme makeover . Congrats .

Thank you so much, sproketser!!! I felt the same way.

This gets detail of the year in my book. Stunning results with just two products and know how. You could have posted a long multi-step process and I wouldn't know the difference.

:dblthumb2:

Thank you so much for the compliments, Meticulous-Detail!!! The results definitely exceeded our expectations.

Holy crap! Those have to be the most dramatic 50/50 shots I have ever seen lol. Huge difference and great work.

Thanks a lot, Caleb! Hope all is well with you.

Congratulations! That was the best turnaround I've ever seen!!!

Great job:xyxthumbs:

Thank you so much for the compliments, TheCougarGuy!!

Thank you, Vet!

I thought this was a lost cause when I saw the before pics! I'm blown away! Amazing turn around Marc!

I don't think you mentioned it in the write up, but care to share how many passes you had to make over each section to see those results?

Thanks a lot Zmcgovern45!!!

I apologize if I left that information out. It definitely took more than normal. I think it would take me 8-10 or even more passes per section. The arm speed was slower and the pressure was more than my typical details. There are some areas where I had to do 2 section passes because the scratches just wouldn't come out. To make the long story short, I kept on buffing until the area was up to my expectations.

The owner would even stop me sometimes and tell me to let it go LOL!

Wow - great work!

Thank you, Memphis_Blue!

wow that is an epic transformation! great job!

Thanks a lot, fabiolas4!

jesus! that thing was trashed!!! amazing how one can abuse a vehicle. 100% turn around. your work is AMAZING.

Thank you so much, pro 4x! I appreciate the kind words.

Hell yes Marc!!!! That's the kind of detailing job we all love to take on. One that is fubared and then brought back to show room standard.

Incredibly well done my good buddy. You strive for perfection in all your jobs and this one was no exception considering the state of this vehicle.

:props:

Thank you so much for the compliments, Mike!!! I really tried my best on this one and I took in the challenge because I wanted to know what I can do. I hope all is well with you

LOL! The car had been repainted!! J/k hehehe!

Thanks so much, Dr Pain!

I certainly hope that he wouldn't bring the truck back to the trails or else I will strangle him LOL! He said he will try to bring it to the dealer today. Honestly, I forgot to bring the tire dressing. (part of the reason why I don't like doing mobile jobs). Also, we were running out of time.

Excellent work.. what about the pillars?! ;)

Thank you, snow!

We didn't have time left and I didn't want to try the compound because I'm afraid that it will do more harm than good.

Those are some amazing 50/50's! Great work!

Thanks a lot, noslef!!

Looks like they were maintaining that fj cruiser with steel wool lol
That thing was hammered. Nice work Marc

Beautiful work. Thanks for sharing.

Thank you, Francisco. Glad to hear you enjoyed the write-up. It's such a pleasure doing these and hearing that it benefits other people.

Thanks a lot, Albert!!! Yeah it looks that way. I think washing it with steel wool would probably look better than this hahaha!

Looks awesome Mark! I can't believe you did a detail in this heat! crazy man lol

Marc, I'm at a loss for words. I saw the before pictures and thought, No way is that going to be corrected. Holy Cow! What a fantastic job. A lot of work too.

Did you use the 101 & then the 300 on each panel? How many microfiber cutting & finishing pads did you use?

Geez. nice work. :buffing:

Larry

That is AMAZING!

Thank you so much Tyrifficdetails!!

Thanks a lot, Gio! Yeah the heat was unbearable but my co-worker wanted to trade the car in already so I had to help him out.

Thank you so much for the compliments, Larry!! I appreciate it a lot.

No I mixed M101 and D300 on the pad. I did 3 dime sized dots of each polish (total of 6 dots) and went to work. If the owner would keep the car and if I had more time, then I would have done like a 2 step detail process.

I only used 2 cutting discs for the vertical panels and the hood. I used 1 finishing disc for the D301 application.

Paint correction looks great, Personally I thought the tires and wheel wells could have used more love......

You did a great job cleaning up that FJ.

Thank you, Guz!

I honestly forgot I bring my tire shine. Thinking back, I should have just applied ultimate black. Sorry this didn't meet your expectation.

Wow...that was an amazing turn around. Great job!

Thank you so much, BlueApolloIV!

Wow. What an amazing turn around. I need to pick up some mf pads, m101, & d300

Thank you 509IS350!

Wait you don't have the Microfiber Correction System yet? You owe it to yourself to have it. You can tackle harder jobs now with ease.
