This vehicle was a recent purchase by it's owner and the goal was to get it back to like new/perfect condition. When the car arrived, we discovered it's poorly installed clear bra and the owner had decided he wanted it removed prior to arrival. The GT-R has a significantly harder clear coat than most production Nissans, making it more resistant to marring/swirling. With that said, the paint was not in desperate shape, but had it's fair share of defects. So we went top to bottom with this car to make it better than new. The white pearl color really sets the new GT-R off!

Process: car was degreased with P21S TAW, washed with CG citrus wash. once it was off, did test panel and decided it needed wool pad to get rid of all defects. whole car was done with wool pad and menz 203, then followed with menz 203 and orange pad and finished with menz 106 and white pad. then p21s paint cleanser. wet diamond sealant was applied and left overnight to cure. took it off in morning. rinsed the car and applied Wolfgang Fuzion wax. wheels and brake calipers were sealed with Rejextires were dressed, inside received quick vacuum since it was in great shape. wing was not removed due to double sided tape on most of 3 mounting points, didnt want to brake it either.

products used:
Menzerna 203 - Purple wool
Menzerna 203 - Orange
Menzerna 106FA - White
P21S TAW
P21S Polishing soap
P21S paint cleanser
CG Diablo wheel gel
CG MetalWax
Rejex
Black Fire Wet diamond sealant
Wolfgang Fuzion wax
im sure im forgetting others

poor quality clear bra was taken off per owners request (took 20 minutes, didn’t even need heat gun, it pealed right off with minimal effort). Worth installation quality we have seen, but at least no visible razor cuts

Finished Photos Outside - I had the Circular Polarizer on the camera outside, simply due to the glare of the sun off the white paint was making the pictures very bright. Polarizer helped but definitely cut down on the gloss of the paint in the photos.

Hope you enjoyed this as much as we have! The white pearl paint really completes this car!

Great work on the car!:dblthumb2:

The HDR pic's would have worked better with the lights just behind you(just over your shoulder's), with a slight upward direction.:props:

awesome work! I wish I had the opportunity to work on a car like this...

still learning camera stuff, deff will try that when car comes back for winter prep

Great work.

HDR isn't easy. I have had very mixed results myself.

Wow a wool pad? I wonder if the white paints are different from the black paints...because I have noticed the GT-R paints do not respond well to heat and marr rather easy. Overall though that is a slick looking job!

I have been playing with HDR ... any chance you can post your bracketed pictures for some of us to play with?

They are pretty big RAW files, but let me see what I can do..

Great job on the Nissan GT-R. The GT-R looks amazing. I think this guy should be driving this car.

Looks awesome! Nice work. I hope the new owner keeps it up better than the old owner.

lol, if you knew what he drives as his daily you would LOL

Is that A-pillar a kinda thin black painted plastic?

If so what was your process with with it? I'm having issues with my GTI's B-pillars, super soft paint on the pillars and can't get it to finish out nicely.

White does nothing for this car. Why would they do all white with black molding. Car is ugly, detail is nice though.

Nice job on the correction and even better job on the photos. White is really hard to capture and you did a brilliant job.

forget but i think its just black plastic couse dont remember any paint transfer on pad unless they clear coat it, i think i used menzerna 203 on it wit orange pad

black molding on bottom of the car is currently white to match rest of the car and it looks great, makes car look lower that way. i think white is great color for the car, specialy white pearl, color is sick and i didnt like white before i worked on couple of white (white 370 and this)
