No I didn't go 50/50. Sorry, I see where someone would think that, my bad. Mostly used XMT3 and some bad area on the hood and sides I used Optimum Compound. This stuff Rocks! Very little dusting, even less the Poorboys SSR3. After polishing with XMT used 101 then top with AW. I need to do a review on SSR3 and Optimum Compound, I told Supercharged I would.

Great job, Sparkie. By the way, what brand is DG?
supercharged, I though you was going on about "what brand is DG". Sorry about that!

Frugle, review comming!

Sparkie...that came out real nice...the paint looks fine...

Next time try using the 101 with a polishing pad..work it in....let the cleaners clean the paint ..as they are real good doing that...to me it is better than AIO...for cleaning...you seen that with the John Deere....

then remove the 101....then go over it with 105..you are not worried about layers as you just used the 101 for cleaning......let the 105 set for 1 hour..buff off..you will be amazed at what you see...sorta like the tractor..but better on car paint...

Then AW it 24-48 hours later....you want the sealant to set up before you use AW...you want the hard shell to set in and the AW to bond to that...

the longer the sealant crosslinks and cures..the better the AW will look....or any spray sealant...you want the base coat to cure before spraying any top coat on.....much better results....remember 101 is a sealant also..beside a cleaner.

but you did a fine job...the engine came out fine...like new...I would bot be afraid to have you do my truck..you do nice work....keep it up

Nice job, Sparkie! I'm admiring the engine and interior detail job too. Duragloss looks good.

After the 101, could you use 601(PBA) and then 105? Or is that overkill, or won't bond properly with the paint since 101 was the 1st layer?

you really would not need the bonding agent...the 101 set up a nice base for 105 to bond to....a nice clean surface..I asked Jerry at Duragloss before ..if I use 101 to clean paint do I need to use PBA if I want to add 111 or 105 after...he said no..you got your paint as clean as it will get...the 101 will strip any wax or dead sealant just like the PBA will...and give a good surface to bond to
