Just because I felt like abusing my claybar some more I detailed a friends Ford Contour...bought from a government auction 6 years ago...supposed to be white but had a yellow hue all over it...sorry for cruddy light...this is a nightime detail in my garage...

The Hood...my claybar still does not forgive me from my Altima Nightmare.....this hood was just as bad...the black dots you see are not from your screen being dirty...it's a boat load of contamination...my megs claybar was toast after this one...saving it now just for use on wheels and glass

The Doors...omg look at the door molding...it's supposed to be body color matched....

Half done doors...this shows how bad the door molding is...ssr 2.5 with an orange pad was working for me like a champ...the swirls you see in the flash is just ssr residue..didn't wipe it off yet..

The Hood after claying...before polishing....you can see the swirls around the aura of the light...notice the hint of a second reflection in the lower left corner
Picture_012.jpg

After...the hood came out sweet...look at the light no more swirls in the lights aura...all three of them:cheers:....ssr 2.5 orange pad...ssr 1 white pad....nxt liquid wax blue pad...natty blue grey pad......pb spary and gloss for final buffing...:righton:

Looks pretty good! Are you going to have some whole car shots for us later on?

unfortunately not...returned the car to the owner already..was in a rush to get things done before they got off work...

got the yellow hue out...mostly the stained look from contaminated/oxidized white paint...you could tell where she always closed her door from the outside because the window sill had yellowing from constant touching in the same spot...I am located in socal...near pasadena

What a turn around. Was your friend just amazed? I can't believe how dark the door molding was and that you were able to correct it.

when i brought them the car...they were like "wow...forgot my car was white" their other complaint was when washing their towel would "stick" to the surface from all the imbeded grit and swirls...so I handed her a towel and let her buff on some spray and gloss :)
