A buddy of mine from Michigan came up this past weekend to detail his car. He's also a detailer so we did this one together. Since we had all weekend to complete I decided to try out my new bottle of Menzerna PO85rd for the first after 105/205. I was really pleased with the results! Here was our process.
Wash:
Two bucket method with cobra chenile wash mitts
Megs detailer shampoo plus
P21S TAW and detailing brush for trim and door handles
0000 steel wool for exhaust tips with megs super degreaser
Dried the car with cobra guzzler
Clay:
DP Clay
ONR diluted clay lube
Wheels/Tires:
P21S gel wheel cleaner allowed to dwell for about 45 min
Daytona wheel brush
Megs APC at 10:1 for tires
Dp wheel glaze to seal wheels
DP gloss tire gel
Correction:
PC7424XP on speed 6/5.5 yellow CCS pad/M105
PC7424XP on speed 6/5.5 orange CCS pad/M205
PC7424XP on speed 4.5/5.5 gray CCS pad/PO85rd
IPA wipedowns were down between each step
LSP:
1 coat of WGDGPS was applied and then allowed to cure 12 hours overnight.
Then we topped it off with some Poorboys natty blue paste wax.
Onto the pics!
Here are some shots of the car outside. Getting a look at the paint in the sun to see what were dealing with..
Some pretty decent swirling, but mainly there were a lot of deep scratches that you will see better in later pics.
Brought it inside and washed then clayed it.
The wheels had years of caked on brake dust, they came pretty clean though. Befores:

And after doing a 1/4 of the hood:
Exhaust tips were really dirty too, they cleaned up nicely, but some areas were too far gone.

Now that the paint was washed, clayed and dried, we started on the compounding and polishing steps. Here are some 50/50's followed by some before and afters.
