Detailed the HHR yesterday

Well, I had the whole weekend off from detailing and my full time job. Actually Friday as well. Went up to Maine for the weekend which was great, but came back Sunday. Had nothing to do yesterday so decided to give my HHR a good cleaning as I haven't had a chance to lately.

I only snapped a couple after shots with my Iphone. My gf had the camera.

Products used:

Duragloss 901 - for my two bucket wash
DP Xtreme Foam & 3oz of OPC for my foam cannon - stripping the Collnite 845 I had on there
ONR - Clay lube dilution
DP Clay
Poorboy's bug Squash
1Z Cockpit premium
Stoners Invisible Glass
Aquapel
UTTG
WG Black Diamond Tire Gel
P21s Metal polish
OPC diluted 5:1

Equipment Used:

Wet/dry vac
Various MF's
Various Brushes - daytona wheel brushes, lug brushes, etc
3 - 5 gallon buckets - 2 with grit guards for wash, 1 for wheels
Powermate Pressure washer
Foam Cannon
Cobra micro-chenille wash mitt - first time using it and loved it
Foam applicators

That's one sharp looking HHR, always nice to find time to take care of your own ride.
 
Thank you. It's very rare these days that I actually have the time to do a full detail. Usually I'm doing it in pieces...vacuum and wipe down interior one day, quick wash another, etc.
 
No wax, or did I miss something? Looks awesome, though.:dblthumb2:

I didn't post it, sorry! It has a coat of WG 3.0 sealant.

Going to probably top it with a coat of wax tonight. Not sure what I'm going to go with.

Hmmm, you should take a chunk of each; put said chunks in a small sauce pot; place the small sauce pot in a bigger sauce pot filled 2/3 the way with water and make a double boiler. The double bouler will melt the wax without burning it. Mix thoroughly, remove from heat and let sit at room temperature for 2 hours. Then refrigerate for 4 hours. Next remove back to room temperature and allow to acclimate overnight.

Call the wax SeaJay's premium blend. Use it and see what happens.:dblthumb2:

Or Just do two coats of XMT 180. I hear it's great stuff.:props:

HAHA...maybe I'll do that when my tubs get low...seems like a lot of work to mix a bunch of stuff! But I might just have to try it.

She looks fantastic Jason! How is it working out for detailing? I still wish I would have bought one.

Dang, this is such a good idea, id love to do this someday when i have time. Mine would consist of mostly paint sealants because thats all i have in stock right now with the exception of nattys blue ha.

Thanks Ed! It's working out really well for detailing actually. Not as much room as my truck, so I have to really ensure I bring only what I need. So, takes me usually a little bit longer to pack up. But everything fits very well. I have already scratched the back of the rear seats moving a small bar fridge. But I'm going to get scratches so I'm over it. Oh and Carrie grounded the front lip this weekend in Maine....she fest up to it though and it's in a spot where you won't even see it unless your laying on the ground. I will probably end up fixing it at some point myself. But for now I'm not concerned.

Thanks! It's not a bad little ride. Certainly not a sports car really but it fits my needs perfectly. A little speed and great handling so it's fun to drive, but also fits all my detailing supplies.
 
I see it's an SS. Does it have the Chevy performance chip "upgrade" available at the dealer?

Not yet. It's $700 roughly for the turbo upgrade and tune. It's on the list.
 
Great job, looks like it's dripping electric paint! Very nice!

You can get them lots cheaper online. My understanding is that it's just a plug-in module that needs no tuning.
