I get too burned out trying to detail the whole car. Or is it too old.
Have read about just working on one panel at a time.

Going to try it with rinseless. I don't see any problems but I usually don't 'til it's too late.
DP has a rinseless, I believe. Thanks

DP has a rinseless as does optimum. Both are very similar in function. There is a great sticky in the detailing university section on rinseless washing and how to do it complete with videos. I would check that out.

Was concerned about rinse-less residue affecting the LSP. Don't want to have to wash the whole car. Had thought about using a regular car wash soap in a spray bottle on a panel, wiping it off with a damp m/f and then a QD.
Thank you and since I usually detail after a normal wash...didn't hurt to ask.
Thank you.

Rinseless wash does not leave a residue. It is more of a water softener. The particles are released from the paint and fall off the car with the water. You will be safe. ONR is a tried and true product.

After you have washed your car and are working one panel at a time the product that I like to use (within a few days) is PB Spray and Wipe. It's a true waterless wash. Spray it on a panel and lightly wipe it off. Clean and ready for polish. I agree the rinseless will work too. Your just saving a little mixing and clean up.

That's a good idea. I guess I want something fast for when I have let it go too long and I need something more than a spray and wipe. I am going to make up enough no-rinse to last a couple of weeks. I had the idea that no-rinse products had brighteners. However, your spray and wipe method would take care of that (after I have clayed) and leave me a clean base.

Guess I don't understand product compatibility so I am looking for problems that aren't there.

Thanks!

Feed back please I really appreciate the ideas I got here and the only payback I have to give is sharing what I did:

I washed my friends 1996 White Honda daily driver so that over the next 2 weeks I can detail it one panel at a time. I will do mini washes on each panel if a spray and wipe is not sufficient

Todays goal was to wash it with as little hassle as possible and begin getting it ready to detail one panel at a time.

I had 3 gallons of no-rinse in a covered 5 gallon bucket from 2 weeks ago. It looked crystal clear, so the particles had still dropped to the bottom under my grit guard.

I dropped a m/f mitt and a car wash brush with a 4' handle in the solution to soak. The bush is a flagged, synthetic.

I divided the car in to areas that were "doable" = quarters. Starting from the top down I used the mitt only on the upper panels and then the brush on the lower panels near the ground.

To avoid waste, I just dipped the presoaked bristles about 1 inch [this absorbed enough solution] and did the lower panels, front and rear bumpers. I then finished off with the wheels at the very end with the brush. I washed and dried each quarter before moving on to the next. The mitt never touched anything below knee level.

Now it Looks like a clean daily driver. I was so gentle some dried bird poops were not even disturbed. Tomorrow I will work just one panel and use something like PB's waterless on the bird poops, prep the panel with QD, clay, clean, polish and wax that panel.

Sound good? Appreciate any tweaks or even major overhauls. Thank you

Jeff

PS. Great forum. Haven't seen anything exceeding your no-rinse thread. I live in Socal, was stationed at NAS Jax in the mid 60's. Forum reminds me of that. Good memories of really beautiful ladies. Must be the climate.

This morning, one day after the ONR wash, I noted a black scuff on the front right bumper.

So, I wiped down about 1.5 feet of the bumper with Megs QD, I resprayed and clayed, Then another wipe-down with the QD. Feels like glass.

I took some Megs SwirlX (all I got) and polished out the the smudges and wiped down the area.

Then, I spayed some Megs spray wax on a m/f, spritzed some on on the area and spread evenly . I did this because I will apply NXT when I detail this quarter of the vehicle, the spray is to just help make any bugs easier to remove between now and Monday or Tuesday.

Thanks for reading.
