You're talking about Door-Ease, which is made by a company now called AGS. They also make Lock-Ease, these were both products specified by GM for lubrication back in the day. At one time GM was recommending motor oil for the door hinges; that would have been 80's-90's.

Since this thread has been dragged up, I can't even remember the company that made the spray white lithium grease I used to use for door hinges, that sprayed on as a liquid then dried up into a...well, dried up. That company got bought by Liquid Wrench and although they had a product that had a similar description, it was nothing like the old product. Fortunately WD-40 has recently come out with a "specialist" white lithium spray grease which is great and very much like that old product. It's great for car door hinges as well as those in your house, because it penetrates as a liquid but dries to a grease, but it does tend to spray everywhere and make a mess.
 
Thanks, I guess I'm just getting use to good products going away for good, comes with the territory of getting older I think, "In our day we made our own while walking to school, uphill, both directions! Once I've looked in 3 or 4 places I get lazy perhaps but I'll try Ace or bicycle shops. Tri-Flow is the best cable lube there is!

Thank you, I need to shake my old school ways is what it's coming down to. One thing you said though about "new WD-40" made me think about PJ-1 Chain Wax, made for m/c chains & not real messy going on if you pay attention, and sticks like glue! It may not be the hot line for car jambs but if nothing else, it smelled good! I am going to try the WD you recomended though, it sounds like it's worth a try.
