Detailing Jobs by Art Hernandez

Some quick body shop pictures I took while no one was looking. They were taken with my cellphone so some came out blurry :D

Body Shops are not Detail Shop :props:

^Took my Rupes to work and found out it wasn't fast enough to keep up with the production style work body shops do.

Side Note: Man discovering Autogeek opened a whole new world to me that I didn't even know existed. Sometimes I do miss the fast paced get er' done before lunch type work. Wet sanding a whole side of the car. Hood, doors, quarter panel etc... before lunch. However, I love this style of Detailing a whole lot more. Plus it pays more since it is quality of quantity. :)

While the buffers at the body shops (Body Shop Detailers) can work at an extremely fast paced, wet sanding and buffing cars out with a Rotary and are judged more on speed. Most here know a whole other side of detailing where quality comes first. So props to everyone on here that does true detailing for a living or a hobby/passion. I am glad to of have joined the team. :xyxthumbs:

Today we have a 1977 Datsun 280Z

^ I like using this for the final wipe

Rupes 21, with 6" polishing pad and plate...

I've been having trouble uploading my pictures using Autogeek's upload feature, not sure why. Never gave me problems before so don't know what's going on. So had to use Photobucket.

Also this car got my Silver Package Paint Detail. How does that sound for the average Joe to pick one of my detailing packages?

Nice work. I hope you are charging extra for using D156 as your final wipe.

Another good Meguiar's product for final wipe's is M135. This is the professional version of ultimate quik detailer. Perhaps you could offer each at different prices for your packages. Something to think about.

Excellent work Detail a Bro :dblthumb2:
Gracias, Detailos a Kitty Bro :)

Thank You, everything done was pre discussed before starting. Well except the exhaust tips. Those I did

Thank you, everything done was pre discussed before starting. Well except the exhaust tips. Those were bugging me knowing what could be done to them. So I polished them up. Took me about 5 mins and told him there you go. On the house. :)

Umm there were buffer swirls, (holograms) from the time the car got repainted, sanded and buffed out.

I tried upselling to a detail job that would insure these were removed. He said he didn't really mind having them on the car. So we just agreed on the original detail plan and see what more it would do to the paint. And if it didn't remove them then we could discuss more steps.

So your guy's thoughts on this, since I don't have to much background on this. (Removing holograms)

And 4 passes on speed 5 all around the car was what was done and the holograms were gone.

Is this normal and is it this easy to remove holograms?

Also, won't be saying hack job and especially to clients. I'll be saying unfinished job. ;)

I still need to get my photography skills up to par. The dang auto focus feature always blurrs out what defects I am trying to capture on paint. So here is what I got.

Be gone unfinished work! you are not welcome here! :p

Left side is polished and right side is unpolished....

All I could find :)

Hey Art! Your projects look great. Very nice. Keep up the good work.

Sent from my SM-G900T using AG Online

Nice work on the Datsun. Wow I'm really showing my age cause I remember Datsun

And my tool works great for really small tight areas. If it holds up after all the modifications I did to it. Then I recommend others make one too. :dblthumb2: (At your own risk :D )
