Has anyone here considered the viability of an automotive detailing magazine? I know that most trades have publications and detailing is very much a trade in my eyes. Wouldn't it be cool to be able to thumb through a nice large glossy magazine with tech tips and before and after pics from the pros. I could see the larger product manufacturers buying some space and if circulation got large enough you could add a classified section to buy and sell equipment and supplies. Perhaps an amateur of the month for us guys who just do our own vehicles for the enjoyment of it. I would say 6 issues a year for say $30 dollars would probably sell.

Just a thought....Feed back please

There is also one available from detail World

Well thanks for the info guys. That first one seems a little skewed towards the drive thru car wash but I would imagine Detail World is more like I was thinking.

Pat,

Don't give up on this. Look at the racks and you will find 20 or more mags for cars, guns, boats, etc. Just because someone has a magazine like you are talking about does not mean you can't do one better.

Do your research, try to think "out of the box" and see what happens. One thing that has not been done that I know of with detailing (has been with guns and gear) is a "we buy them with our money and give the product a fair and honest test without advertising" magazine.

This depends solely on sales of the magazine but would create some interesting comparisons between sealants, waxes, quick detailers, etc. from all of the different vendors.

I think it's a great idea Pat. If you do it right I'm sure there's got to be some sweet $$$ in that dream... Go for it!!!

If this comes to fruition I'll provide some detailing How-To's and provide answers to question

Sounds like an awesome idea to me.

Have product reviews, how-to's and have people provide before and after pictures of details the completed with a lineup and process of what they used.

I would dign up. I don't always want to read about details online. Doing it away from the computer ever once in a while would be nice.

I'll be a subscriber for sure, I almost feel like I'm imposing on this great forum asking all these questions I know have probably have been asked and answered many times before. I say do it.

Sounds like a great idea......I have 10+ years of Advertising and Marketing experience....keep me in the loop on this........I say lets run with it ........its these ideas that make things happen and often lead to success on a grand scale!!
