It would be great to see others (a hard copy) services and price menu as a guide. just my opinion

Add $15 for SUV’s

You contradict yourself here... Most mini-vans have 3rd row seats, even a Tahoe has a 3rd row.

Split the difference and simplify for it yourself as most places around here do: +$15 for Trucks +25 for MiniVans and SUVs

Now its up to you whether you accept a Toyota Rav4 or Ford Escape as an SUV or Car.. They're both 2 row crossovers.

I am not a detailer by profession so I would recommend to add a monthly detailing plan too after an initial comprehensive detail.
I would definitely pay a monthly fee/dues for once a month detailing.

your plasti-dip price is super cheap. most places charge around 50/wheel

You might consider not mentioning Meguiar's by name. Please don't misunderstand what I'm saying- Meguiar's makes great products, I use 105 & 205, but you might decide, at some time in the future, to try Menzerna or Pinnacle; you might even consider offering sealants or coatings in the future. My experience is that most people don't care and those that do care, I show them my selection and I get to spend a little time talking about products. In which case your menu might say, "Detail with wax $$, Detail with sealant $$$." Having said all of this, if you are absolutely sold on Meguiar's and will only use their products, you might consider advertising yourself that way and see what happens. Good luck, man. Please keep us up to date on
how things are going.

Having said all of this, if you are absolutely sold on Meguiar's and will only use their products, you might consider advertising yourself that way and see what happens.

As a former customer before I started doing it myself, I really didn't care what products you were using until I started looking for a new hobby when my old one shut down.

I would guess most clients won't know 1 brand from the next. Recc to remove mfg & product name. I would think few people have any brand recognition, plus, so many new products get released annually. My personal opinion - as long as my car looks spectacular & long lasting, I really don't care WHAT you used!

Pricing - EVERY company has different costs & needs. You may have a brand new F150 & $20k in gear, trailer, etc. The next detailer may have 2000 sq ft garage downtown. Costs need to be covered (full OR part-timer!) Those totals are different.

Pricing 2 - full-timer, part-timer or other - I dont care. The price needs to match the quality of work! (Plus, u will tick off a LOT of the full-timers that do this as a livelihood. Maintain the price, maintain the INDUSTRY!

Hope that helps, just my 2¢!

Wish you well!

To be honest, I'd take it one step further. Before getting into detailing, I had a negative perception of the Meguiars brand. Admittedly based on ignorance. All I knew is that those were what I saw on the low shelves in Wal Mart. I just assumed they were the cheapest products in the industry. Sort of like what I'd find in K-Mart.

I remember when I was first recommend Meguiars, how shocked I was. Well, obviously, now I understand the brand and it makes up the majority of the products I use.

But when I talk with customers and individual products comes up, I can see how shocked they are when they learn that I use Meguiars. And I can totally relate.

I'm just passing on experiences I've had that might be helpful to you. Mentioning specific brands could work against you.

Are you mobile or fixed location? If you are mobile I would think twice about offering sub 100$ packages.

Think about all the time you are gonna waste with each client: Going to location, setting up you products and gear (hooking up the hose, electricals, and so on). Then you have to pack everything back in the truck and drive back. For me that is about 1 to 1.5 hours of wasted time. Are you really wanting to do that for a 2 hour job?

I am now closed for winter but when I open again this spring I will be adding a flat 30$ fee to all my packages to cover gas and driving time. Like you I calculate my packages on a 40$ per hour rate.

Also I currently do not offer sub 100$ packages. If need be, add a few services in your package to raise the price. You will hate yourself when people start hiring you for basic packages and after 4-5 hours of your time all you get is 65$ gross.

If you really want to offer express wash services, make it so that it's for 3 or more vehicles only.

I'm at the other end of the state so different market but I do know and talk with some of the established guys near you. Where did you come up with your prices? If you look at your competitors you are very low. So low that you may only get calls from the really cheap people.
