Detailing my F-150 tomorrow...what should I do?!

Your house looks sharp. Trucks cool too. The drought tolerant landscape of your neighborhood suggests that you probably get mild winters. Collinite will probably hold. I live in central CA and do a winter detail every year too just to not really need it. I only buy wipers every 3 years or so.

Yea I live in Arizona so winters are mild. Summers...not so much. That is when I really need the protection.

yea maybe I should get one of those sprays then...I think I will order the Optimum Paint Prep one as I hear Optimum makes good products. That would certainly save me some time.

Sounds like maybe my best bet is a light polish with a black pad and M205 followed by Optimum Paint Prep and then onto the McKees Paint Coating

In that case I guess I will hold of on detailing the truck today.

Get the sprays, like i said in the other thread. Forget about the prep polish - its an unnecessary step that will require you to keep the tape on the trim. prep polish will also stain trim. I would never recommend it to anyone. I hated it so much I threw my PBL prep polish into the trash - no joke.

With the sprays, remove tape, use sprays - as instructed - and you are good to go.

Make sure to use the sprays as instructed. I did not when I coated and ran into some issues (smearing).

OR

Get IPA and mix it up - as I doubt ford paint is soft.

Yea the IPA wipe sounds like a good way to go honestly...

Way cheaper too!

Take note that many many HIGH END coating manufacturers recommend IPA, some even recommend a 50/50 solution....to me it sounds safe.
