The other day i got the Porter Cable/Meguiars polish machine in the mail, i had to buy it with a transformer (220v-110v) so it could be used in Norway.

And what a machine!!! ive got a orbital polisher and a cyclo "lookalike" polisher in my garage, but i dont think i will be using those so much more (maybe the orbital, with tough swirl removal jobs)

With The PC/Megs machine i gave my wifes Volvo a total makeover. I am fairly new with detailing, yes, ive had my goes in the past, but then there was the turtl i used, and i didnt catch the fun in polishing, i always waited to short or to long before removal, and i couldnt use my arms the next 2 days.

But one day in a carshop i was introduced to a man caled Barry, you probably know his last name;) I stod there with my arms full of polishes and wax, then a man approach me and asked if i needed help, i said i was going to wax my new car and needed som stuff to get started. He looked at me, and my arms full, and said "you dont need all that stuff" then he reach for a blue bottle besides him and gave it to me "here you go, this is all you need" he said. I looked at the bottle and read "NXT gen tech wax" fancy name i said, is it good? "its the best" he said Ok i`ll try it (quite expensive 50 usd)

Later that day when came home, I gently washed my car, and let it dry, took the bottle out of the box, it came with a polishing pad, and the salesman also made me buy a Microfiber towel to use to remove the polish. I started to polish, i took the whole car, and waited some minutes before i started to buff the polish of the hood, k-a-p-i-n-g, hoooooly crap this is shiny, I tought. i started buffing like a madman to reveal more of the shiny shiny shiny car. After i had removed all of the polish, i just stood ther for some minutes, i was shell shocked............I WAS HOOKED

The day after i went back to the store a bought all the Meguiars stuff i could afford, washing mitts, towels.....you name it....Meguiars....i buy it...

Then i started to look around at the internet, to find some tips about car detailing/care, i found this page/forum, and i stoped looking. What i now can, i have learned from reading this forum, so THANK YOU guys/girls for sharing your enthusiastic carcare and detailing knowhows, You make it SHINE......

Thers nothing like a newly detailed, swirl free BLACK car

I used one sunday (around 9 hours), to get it done

I have already made up my mind about buying the Schmit washing mit, and the Pinnacle xmt series #3, #1 and the finishing glaze, this is going on MY car, thats the red one you can see in the "mirror" picture;)

So thank you all, for guiding me trough my first real detailing "job"

I`ll be back

Please dont mind the writing errors, i do the best i can

That is probably one of the best reflections I've seen in a long time, excellent job! I'm a big Volvo fan and they are often left neglected for some reason. Nice to see someone take such good care of one. Great great work! Any good full shots?

Hope your wife was pleased as well...

very nice! What did you think of Meguiars 85 ?

The meguiars #85 has a heavy cut, so i prefer using the dual action instead of the orbital i have. With the dual action and purple megs pads + #85, you should get rid of most of inperfections in your paint.

I also use the yellow megs pads + #85, for less cutting, and that aslo work fine on smaler swirls.

My wife has not seen it yet, but i think she will be pleased.

ufortnatley while detailing the car i found some rust, and as you can see on two of the pictures (the hood) you can see a spot i couldnt polish, because its newly painted (someone hit the car at a parking lot) same with the rear bumper, have to buy a new one, it got a BIG hole in it.

In Norway they use salt to remove the ice from the roads, and that is NOT a good thing for a car. But we have had the car for almost 9 years now. We should probably buy a new one, but i keep spending all my money at AG;)

And with the detailing job i did on the car i say "new" car to everyone. he he

It was dark yesterday, so i had to wait to take the full shots to today.

MMMMMMM...eguiars

Looks exceptional!

The Evo looks sweet too :)

I would never be able to tell from your pictures that you are in Norway, looks exactly like Bellingham Washington where I live.

I went on a trip to Scandinavia a few years ago and Norway was the only country I didn't get the visit... But at least I checked out Legoland in Denmark!!!
