Bought a new 2011 Dodge Challenger R/T.

I was planning on washing, Pinnacle Cleansing Lotion, Opti-Seal, and top it off with Poorboy's EX Sealant w/ carnuaba. Is this an okay regiment for a new black car? I don't want to use products with any abrasives... any suggestions I'm new to detailing just started researching a week ago.

thanks! Feed back please

No replies!?! I am thinking of skipping the pinnacle cleaner lotion now and maybe just go with clay/sealant/wax or wash/sealant/wax.

Wash, clay, Pinnacle, sealant, wax. The Pinnacle will clean up any clay residue.

Thanks for the reply.

Do you think it is okay to use a chemical cleansing lotion on new clear coat paint? I want to use it but I am a little afraid to because I have never used a product like this...only wax and sealant. I am also scared to use a clay bar cause I am paranoid it will cause swirls/scratches.

As long as you are using a fine to medium grade clay bar you shouldn't run into any issues with the clay bar marring the paint. Just make sure you are not using excessive pressure on the clay bar and that you are using a good clay lube. Also make sure that you fold the clay bar to expose clean clay after the clay becomes dirty from picking up contaminates.

I would use the cleansing lotion because a clean surface makes all LSPs look and adhere better, but I would choose Opti Seal or EX and not use both...maybe two coats of either, but no need for two different sealants IMO.

The Pinnacle Cleansing Lotion is good stuff. It is probably my favorite paint cleanser. I don't see any reason why you would run in to any problem with the paint on your vehicle. You say it is new paint, is it a repaint?

I lay down Opti Seal and top it with Pinn Souveran and the look on my black Tahoe is stooooooooooopid wet!

It is brand new car with factory paint. Right now I have only washed it and put opti_seal on it (1 coat)

Okay thanks, I just read somewhere on the forum that cleaner waxes dull the paint or something and I didn't know what negative effects the cleansing lotion would have on a new factory clear-coat...if any.

There are two types of cleaner waxes. Those that chemically clean and those that abrasively clean. The cleansing lotion you have is chemical and should not cloud the paint but actually improve clarity.
