Detailing pics and camera phone photos don't mix

I actually think the truck pictures look nice. Me personally appreciate the write up and steps taking to show off a persons work.. Pictures are just the icing on the cake. As long as I can see HD picture I get the ideal of the before & after shots.
I just hope guys keep continuing to write good documentaries of their work and don't get discouraged from not having a expensive digital camera

That's a bit over the top. There is zero chance this thread is going to discourage anyone from posting camera photos if that's all they have, and as mentioned several times they are not expensive. It can even be no cost with a trade.

Good quality photos are even more important when asking questions to troubleshoot problems.

Just for the record, I did say that if you're taking a photo of a stationary object then a camera phone is fine, so long as you hit it with some light, either a very bright light or the sun.

All that happens with a DSLR is you get more control.

"the best camera is the camera you have with you", this quote means it doesn't matter if you don't have a DSLR if you don't have if with you, all cameras work. I just tried to give advice about the differences between an iPhone and a DSLR and how to get the best out of a iPhone style camera.

The main reason I provided this info was that I didn't want everyone running out to buy a DSLR, unless they love photography.

I'd say my little thread here has about run its course and I appreciate all the comments. Probably time to let it die and move on, before it ruffles feathers and transitions into unnecessary arguments around the fringes.

thanks again
