Hi I'm wondering if I can safely and effectively detail a car outside. As in claying, polishing to get rid of swirls and scratches and final waxing. And if it can all be done in one day, I ask because I don't have a garage or anything with a shelter to detail and only have one vehicle. Thanks in advance for everyone's help and advice.

Yes it can be done. Can u do it? I don't know

Sent from my XT1030 using AG Online

I've just washed and waxed before joining this forum then found out about polishing and everything. And using DA polisher to remove swirls and scratches etc. So I've never used one but had a friend send me one I'm wanting to wash, clay, polish and the finally wax my car. I work third shift and I'm off Sunday and Monday night's but don't do anything on Sunday so I try to do everything on Monday or Tuesday morning but need to get some rest for work that night. So I'm wanting to do it all Monday if I can so I can drive it Tuesday night.

you don't drive a land yacht, so you should have no problems getting it all done in one day

Ok thanks what about doing it outside with no shade or anything? Early in the morning there's shade then by around lunch time it's almost gone and the only shade is under trees. I'm worried about dust, dirt or pine straw or something getting in the polish and or wax while I'm working on it.

you should be alright under a tree, you will need some shade unless you are using XMT polishes that are safe for use in the sun

I'm planning on using Meguiar's quick detailer spray along with there clay bar, then there ultimate polish with the new DA polisher from HF my friend sent last week. Then waxing with Collinite 915 is there any way to apply and or take off the wax with the polisher?

you can apply it, but not take it off. have it take it off by hand

I would iron x the car also. are you using 6.5 inch pads or did you get a 5 inch backing plate?

You can do the car in sections if your not sure your going to have enough time.

I wouldn't worry too much about shade. I prefer to work under some sun to see the swirls easier. You can spritz detailer product on the polish on the area you're working on if it dries too quickly because of the sun. Shade is preferable, obviously, but it's not a deal-breaker.
You can scrape a thin layer out of the can with a credit card and smear it on your pad, then remove by hand.
Personally, I like to wax by hand. After polishing all day, it's nice to set the polisher down for a while and work by hand.

Ok would one bottle of polish be enough? Also would a 16oz or 32oz bottle of detail spray be enough to clay the entire car and have enough in case the polish dries some before I can take it off?

Yes, one bottle of polish will be enough. Go for the 16 oz. spray. In a pinch, you could cut it with water to have more, but I don't see that happening.

I'm planning on getting the 32oz in the morning before leaving work if they still have it how long will it last?

Approximately how many microfiber towels will I need to clay polish and wax my car?
