Detailing stuff your buying on Black Friday (not from AG)

I just bought a shop-vac at lowes. 12 gallon 6 hp stainless steel for $39.99. Online only I believe. I thought it was a great deal. Free shipping so came out to $43.18 total with tax.

Shop Shop-Vac 12-Gallon 6-Peak HP Shop Vacuum at Lowe's

Thanks. Just picked up one as well. Still on sale and Coates well to other models from hd.

Also picked up a platform work ladder on sale at HD for 17.88, on sale from 29.99. Not the Werner but looks almost identical.

Home Depot didn't have the Werner on sale, but they did have Gorilla and I've see some good reviews, and for $17 I couldn't pass it up. I bought some 3M tread tape to put on the platform for some added grip as I often wear Crocs when detailing and grip isn't exactly their strong-point. I'm thinking it will work out just fine for what I need it for, and I've still got a taller ladder for when I do large trucks and stuff.

I picked one up last night after work too. I was surprised. It's a decent quality

The O'reilly's by me has a sale often on Castrol (and others). You can't catch it there?

It's Castrol TWS 10w60 for M cars. It looks like the regular stuff, but it's different. Unlike regular Edge, it's made in Europe and is a true group IV base stock oil. Most (all?, except 0W30 EU formula) of the Castrol Edge on the shelf at auto parts stores or group III base stock hydro-cracked oils, which are actually made from petroleum from the ground.

Nothing wrong with that, but as an FYI these oils can not be sold in EU as "synthetic"; and are often sold as "heavy duty".

For $16 a quart, you get this fancy little tag:

10w60?? Man, that's some thick oil! I use 0w40 or 5w40 European formula in my little (tiny) turbodiesel, usually Mobil 1 but often Royal Purple, sometimes Motul or Total. But just for comparison, AMGs including the SLS use Mobil 1 0w50.

Ordered a gallon of DG Aquawax from the local CARQUEST wednesday, was supposed to be here today, but isn't.

Dummy I am, should've ordered it here yesterday, or today, could've gotten it 25% off and free shipping

Just Picked up a craftsman air compressor for 89 and a mechanic seat for 19 at sears

Canceled my DG AW order from CARQUEST. Ordered it here, no hurry to get it, and saved money to boot. Have about one quick detail left with my existing supply on hand

I thought my 0W-40 was snotty, but not as much as yours is, lol. Do you still have to change it every 3k miles? Or do M's tell when to change it?

BTW, which M? :)

Z4 M Roadster. All modern BMWs have the maintenance counter, which prompts you to change the oil at around 15k (LL01 oil spec). I change it every 5k. Engine stays internally extremely clean.

As expected, www.dipyourcar.com has a 25% of BF code this weekend, but sadly no free shipping. The code barely offsets the shipping cost but I need to refresh my winter steel wheels regardless so I ordered the Aluminum True Metallic gloss wheel kit for $60 shipped. Still waaaay cheaper than any B&M locally and a quite a bit less than any other online Plasti Dip vendor.

THANK GOD Black Friday & Cyber Monday are over. For all the money saving deals that were out there. I sure feel broke lol. I ended up placing like 5 or 6 different orders and spending way more than I really should have.

On the bright side, I have a lot of new detailing products to play with. On a depressing note or 2, my bank account is drained and it's RAINING hard today and probably tomorrow - In So Cal, where it never rains! So I have to wait to test out some of my goodies on my car :(

This is my final list of

ONR+W (32 oz)

3x Uber Hi Tech Glass Microfiber Towel
1Z einszett Cockpit Premium

Tuf Shine Tire Clearcoat (6 oz)
5x 16''x16'' Extra Fluffy Korean Microfiber Detailing Towel - Zero Edge Gray
5x 16''x16'' Extra Fluffy Korean Microfiber Detailing Towel - Zero Edge Blue

I'm terrified to sit down and add up to see how much everything cost me lol. I had originally planned to get some ONR, a few MF towels and MAYBE another item or 2 more. Perhaps to make myself feel a bit better I'll add up everything, then look at the regular prices so I can calculate how much I saved lol.

So I finally got around to getting the new platform ladder set up with the grip tape and everything. It works great, has a locks on it, and now is super grippy so I don't need to worry about it when it gets wet while I'm washing. I feel like it will work for all but quite tall or lifted trucks. and for $20 total including the grip tape, definitely worth it.

I don't think I've ever seen grip tape that cheap for that much! I may have to hit up the skate shop this week, that looks very effective.
