Personally, I prefer the HD line up of products, better working time and virtually no dusting and at a great price.

HD Polish, HD Speed and then topped with Poxy. Orange and White Buff & Shine Flat pads, three of each, one or two blue or black for applying Poxy. That combo would cost approximately a $100.00 or so with all the pads and 16 oz. bottles and their is nearly nothing you couldn't polish out.

3D Professional Detailing Products, HD car care, 3D HD

I have a G110 that I'm going to be using.

HD with the combo I suggested will work great. Do a test spot first with Speed and an orange pad and see where that gets you. If not successful go with orange and HD Polish.

watch this video (very good btw) and note how slow his arm movements are. too many first timers with the DA tend to move it too fast...

Do you already have the Megs 105 and 205? And what pads do you have?

I do have the old meguiar pads, 105 and 205. I think I'll get new pads that custmsprty recommended. I got these pads and chemicals from a friend. I'm not sure how old they are, is there a shelf life?

Thank you for the video Visitor.

On that color Lexus, I would imagine you will be mighty impressed with M205, but as custmprty said: "Test spot!"

I asked what you had for products and pads to establish what you already have on hand. I would suggest a test spot with 205 and a soft pad first. My experience with that paint has almost universally been easy to correct and 105 might cut to aggressively for what you want or need. From pictures 2 and 4 you posted the marring doesn't look too bad and i would want to gently persuade them flat. You can always resort to 105 if you don't like the 205 test but don't get impatient if the 205 gets you to about 60% corrected. Do it again to get the remaining 40% or maybe switch up to a stiffer pad and do another test spot with it.

One of the things that Mike P. preaches is that factory paint is precious. I never want to remove any more than i need to.

With regard to shelf life of Megs 105 and 205, i have an old bottle of 105 that has turned very watery. Shake the living h*** out of it. I do every time i grab it and it never gets back to the consistency it had when new but i've still used it several times and it works just fine. Good luck and have some fun!

I have never used the Megs pads so can't comment on them. I am a huge fan of the ThinPro LC pads on a DA machine though if you need pads. What machine do you have?

Oh and welcome, Mokey.

HD polish will do the job with some micro pads .I did a swirled out mess merc glk with HD polish and got nearly 90 percent correction, followed by HD speed and lsp was powerlock.

Lexus paint is a blessing and curse to work with in my eyes. My wife's car is red and I used griots boss creams with awesome results. I used foam pads with the polish that goes with the color system griots has. I think you could get away with correcting cream by the look of your pictures. Lexus paint is fairly easy to correct but fairly easy to mar if you don't use proper washing techniques. Hope it comes out great for you

The new Lexus 460 suv in black is so soft and big time pita to polish.

Thanks for the help everyone! Just waiting for the clay to arrive then I will be diving in.

I'm not even sure what type of Meg pads these are but I'm getting rid of them to be safe.

Thank you for the warm welcome!
