Detergent for washing microfiber towels and foam wax applicators

I have easy access to All or Tide Free and Gentle...Oxiclean is readily available. Is it really worth spending 30 bucks on CG MF wash and 12 dollars for shipping??

maybe i missed it, but has anyone in here recommended that product?

i got the product i recommended for $17 shipped for a gallon.

there are i believe two write ups on the web where people compared tide free vs. mf washes, but one in particular compared towel kleen vs. cg vs. tide. towel kleen won on performance and value. i can't vouch for it yet because like i said, i just got it, but when you start talking about CG and that outrageous price, i have to mention to you what i've seen.

imo if you are hesitant to get a particular product...just get the easiest to get stuff from the store whilst on sale (woolite, tide free, etc.) and if it doesn't do what you want with your towels, then use it for your regular wash and keep looking.

I bought Pinnacle waxes so maybe the Pinnacle detergent would go well with that.

You are overthinking it. For towels I have the 3d towel kleen and works fine. Ive used All free and clear, works fine.

For pads Ive used dish soap, apc and its worked fine.

I just bought this stuff to try out BLACKFIRE Advanced Pad Cleaner & Restorer Ill use it when polishing and will throw my towels in there too as a pre-soak.

I always wash my MFs after they are used, even if they are only a few. After separating paint worthy vs non-paint worthy:

- dirty ones: wash them with basic detergent and something like Dr. Beckmann's Oxy Magic Powder, at a temperature between 60º C and 95º C;
- others: wash them with basic detergent, at a temperature between 40º C and 60º C

You can dry them in the drying machine in a normal cicle - they always come out grabby, like they should.

I have Pinnacle Micro Rejuvenator and there is no difference in the final results but I haven't used the newer MF detergents from PBMG.

Well I have researched this topic to death. Builthatch...I checked into Towel Kleen and I think that is the way to go if I am going to try a dedicated MF cleaner. It appears to have great reviews (one in which the guy compared it to CG, BF, and Wolfgang) and it seems to be just as good if not better than many of these pricey detergents. I think if I didn't go with Towel Kleen it would be Micro-Restore as it has the best reviews out of any the pricey cleaners.

I do find it a bit comical that many of the reviews I have read on these MF washes (specifically the ones that ACTUALLY compare MF washes to regular detergent - free of scents and fabric softener) tend to admit that the MF wash was not as good or not any better as regular detergent with a vinegar rinse.

Yeah, everybody has their options. Mine, Tide Free, drop a few glugs of vinegar as the rinse cycle starts, dry on delicate cycle. Check thoroughly for ingrained particles, put them in a zippy. Fini.
Take care.

Peace,

Darrin

3d towel kleen...

I have been trying the Towel Kleen and found that in a HE washer. That 1/2-oz. to 3/4-oz. is all that is needed. It's inexpensive and a gallon is going to last a long time to use up. The label mentions that it leaves no residue behind. Vinegar rinse did not show anything.
