2000 grit wetsand on clearcoat. What packing plate and foam pad should I buy. I am using XMT #4.

Honestly i have the same buffer, it is a great tool. I started with all wool pads on a 7" backing plate, then just recently bought a 6" backing plate so that i could use my 6.5" foam pads that i bought for my PC, either will work great, i like the 6" better though, that's just me though.

Good luck,

Do you have a link for the 6" backing plate, I have bought so many useless backing plates for this thing I want to make sure I get the right one.

thanks in advance

Rotary Flexible Backing Plate, lake country rotary backing plates, makita 9227 backing plate, dewalt 849 backing plate, circular backing plate

Really for wetsand marks, I guess use your favorite compound and follow up with your favorite finishing polish. I did recently watch some Meguiars Classes on youtube and the 105/205 combo with wool pads put forth some serious results.

Why not finish with 3000, less buffing.
