DFB's Garage

Thanks Dave and that's not even brand BRAND new either ️Not just that front but look how bloated the entire car is

In the cars defense though, it makes 500 hp, no matter what that "rating" says, plus those rims look great...except you have to look at what they're attached to

I picked that colour because it "shows"it off, in black and dark metallics you almost can't tell how ugly it is. But those wheels are very nice.

It's gotta be frustrating, as much from the not getting updates as the actual delays. I think you, or someone, may have said they are becoming the Ford Ranger company here, and don't care about anything else.

There's at least 5 of the new Rangers in my neighbourhood already. All different trim levels as well, one is this really nice metallic blue, and he had these nice white wheels with machined lip, but the white paint started flaking off, so now he has black rims, it doesn't look anywhere as good.

Becoming? They are already there. Oh, I got that wrong, they are the Ranger and Everest Car Company. Or may the Path of Least Resistance Company.

The Ranger and Everest are segment leaders, not everyone needs or wants an overweight tax write off vehicle.

THIS is THEE one to have though

The local BMW dealer principle has a 1M in the signature orange colour. I know who detailed it too, coated with CSL Ultra. I actually pulled up beside him the other day, stunning vehicle.

That orange is AMAZING

Here it’s the Ranger and Bronco company

I have never seen the market so flooded with a particular model like it is with the Bronco especially

Sucks they are jerking you around

FWIW I waited 2 years and 10 months for my Bronco. Don't know if I'd do that again, knowing what I know now, but glad I have it and it's getting to be the season here for driving around with the top off.

It’s weird, we were seeing them in Hawaii way before we saw any in Alaska

Like over a year earlier

Hawaii is certainly a car crazy state

I went with rental flat white…. I personally like it. I like the contrast of white on black trim.

In America red and yellow modern American muscle are reserved for the douchiest of douche bags….

I personally like the blue best.

Right now the s650 is slated to be last gassed powered but I believe if it sells well (should with no Camaro and challenger) it will live passed 2028.

I was excited back in the day when the s650 was to be all new. went in to test drive with possibly the intent on buying it but was not impressed. Interior looked good compared to s550 but felt dated compared to other modern cars.

To be honest I think the S550 is better looking. Ford kinda missed the mark but I guess not as important with no American competition.

I’m sure the s650 will grow on me. Dark Horse was nice but at that money I’d probably look at a used 2022 GT500.

If you can get a look at a live s650 if you can…

This popped up in my feed, I have to say I'm not a fan of the styling of either car, inside or out.

Also, don't look too closely at picture 39, why would they think that is a good shot.

Edit: It says access denied, but the link still seemed to work.

Those look like sanding marks or rotary holograms in pic 39.

Of all of the recent BMW's, only the previous gen M2 even remotely interests me. The current model M2 is hideous, and apart from the current 8-Series, the whole BMW lineup lacks styling finesse. The Ultimate Driving Machine moniker no longer applies either, to busy trying to appease certain markets that want soft ride qaulity and bigger back seats.

Considering I have more Victa's in my care than an actual dealer would carry in stock, I decided I wanted a sign to hang on my garage wall. This is how my order showed up........................

I guess it looks more shabby chic now?

The way it was creased was very deliberate, like it was sent like that, or someone in Australia Post though such an action was appropriate despite the package wrapped with "FRAGILE" tape.

The vendor is making me a new one, but just wish people (Aust Post) would be honest when they screw up. Perhaps I'm just too naive for my own good.

That brings back some memories, packing parts at my last job, engine gasket kits and window rain visor sets were the worst for getting bent or snapped. We started keeping the cardboard that came off of roof top tent installs, cutting it to size for whatever we were sending out, it was really strong stuff, but I'm sure they just saw it as an extra challenge. Like these guys though, if someone said it arrived damaged, no questions, just send out a replacement, and pack it really well.

Well.................................... :bolt:

The first of two Knipex tools I ordered, and my first interaction with this brand.

Knipex 31 15 160 Flat Nose Pliers -
...

Initial impressions are of quality, the soft touch handles in particular.

Oooh, you're gonna like them. Knipex makes really good stuff, I recommend it to techs here all the time. Knipex are the sidecutters I use on my snap-on sidecutters when I want to get them warrantied. (but seriously though - 250mm straight side cutters will clip the tip off the snap on one with nary a nick on the Knipex).

Knipex Link I've had a pair of these since I started wrenching in 01. Would recommend. :xyxthumbs:

Also highly recommend the Cobra or Alligator pliers (depending on your preference for a locking slide mechanism or a free sliding) if you do much Adjustable Pliers work. The teeth are cut like that of pipe wrenches so they dig in to what you're reefing on - I've had frozen tie rods where you squeeze both handles until the teeth dig in, then you could just push on the back of it they bit so hard.

And last one is just a PSA for anyone that does any kind of mechanical work - get yourself a flush cutter (I think I have this one at the moment - Knipex Link ) for trimming zip ties perfectly flush - no more sharpened tips to render blood (Personal pet peeve as a mechanic).

Did you buy the Comfort Grips cause you like them or you thought it was a upgrade since it said comfort

I hated my Comfort Grips....eventually sold most of them (still have a few floating) and all my Knipex is just regular dipped.
They are way too bulky and are not ergonomic at all. YMMV though

I've got all the Cobras and Flats including the Unicorn Offset Handle Flats

Can't teach a dog new tricks. For me, it works in certain situations, but more often then not, I'm grabbing my old a## channel locks or my now preferred =Top Work Adjustable Wrench=
I get the whole single handle locking teeth on the Knipex.....but workflow wise, which is not me schleppin a tool everyday but I am a tool #####....not a fan of both...
